This morning started off with love and encouragement, and it quickly went sideways. I saw that someone I care about is struggling and feeling low, and was about to shut out everyone except some people that are close to them. Not it a depressed way, but more in a "tired of the crap" kind of way. It was when I reached out to shine a little light that I was labeled as a heretic. Not directly, but labeled as someone in the past that was labeled a heretic.
I won't go too deep into it all here in the text, but it is one of those things that catch you off guard. Especially when you approach the situation with love. When it comes to labels, you all know how I feel about it. Labels are things that people put on things to understand them. When things happen in our lives we need to have a way to deal with it. So, when someone labels me, that is for their own understand...within their own scope of understanding.
I don't take things like this personally because it is not about me. When a kind gesture is met with a quick negative response, you know that it is more about how the other person feels. That's it. Life is about feelings. We can try to make this experience black and white, but it's not. It isn't as cut and dry as people hope it to be.
In my comment I did say that I will pray that their eyes would be opened a bit wider. That is a general statement that I say to many people. It is about perspective. Whenever we are "stuck" in a situation and it starts to make us feel bad, or weary, then maybe we need to be able to change perspective to see it differently.
I encourage everyone that is seeking the truth to continue to seek. When someone might come against you from the point of their own understanding, remember that it is not about you. It is about individual understand and validation. If someone is pushing a view point it is only because they want to feel like they are correct. I have yet to meet anyone that has had all the answers. I know OF one, and that's who I worship.
Be well.
