Condition Recognition

text16.png

Just like that, things are thrown out of wack.
Are opposite polars essential to living?
Are questioning stares piercing your conscience?
Will the time ever come, we’ve no right to look back?

Just like that, working cures are rejected.
Who would not say our lives are not normal.
“Lockdown” is harsh to the ears of the free.
Do you think any wise men say “This was expected?”

Just like that, we’ve a tough situation.
Are increments measured by rights disappearing?
Who stands at the ready, who cares for our freedom?
Who refuses to bow to the rogue consternation?

Just like that, awful people have missions.
Some of them do things; some things that are evil.
Intentionally spreading disease to the public.
They think they’ve the right to affect our conditions.

Just like that, older people are sighted.
The one whose health isn’t good will contract it.
There’s no one at risk like those whom they target.
The old person dies; does it make them excited?

Just like that, inhumanity’s reigning.
Have we come this far to relive the dark ages?
Will consciousness submit to accepting darkness?
Will caring for others be an act we’re just feigning?

I've written this poem as I was inspired by a prompt that I received in a daily email from shadowspub@shadowspub. The prompt is the idiom, “Just Like That”

Thanks for reading!
