2021 was, despite the resurgence of Covid and impactful restrictions, an incredibly good year for me personally.
As I teased in one of my first posts since starting to blog again (The importance of taking proper breaks ), I took the time off to visit many of the most gorgeous places in Norway. And Norway has a lot of gorgeous places!
I’m going to have to write three or four more in-depth reviews of all of these amazing places, as they are locations and hikes that any traveler should feel ashamed to die before visiting. But as my social media feeds have been spammed by people posting compilations of their heights in 2021, I figured I would do it too, literally.
At the peak of Måtind, north on Andøya island
Another shot at the same peak but closer to sunset and at another side. Had to say it was scary, and a little bit dangerous, to step out as far as I did.
At “The Devil’s Gate” in Lofoten. Getting out on the rock wasn’t that easy, and it also felt a bit uneasy to stand on it since it’s not really flat… But hey, the things you do for the gram 😅
Perhaps the most magical experience was hiking to Ryten and Kvalvika beach. Because risking my life and safety was just fun and games at this point, I decided to also do a free hang!

Sitting on the top of "Segla" with a free fall of 640 meters. Because it's not enough to simply dangle my feet outside the edge, I had to also try and sit as far out as my butt checks would allow 😝

So there you go! Those were the peaks of 2021 that I managed to visit during the year. As you can probably tell, I really love hiking and spending time in nature. Hopefully, 2022 will allow me to do a lot more of that, ideally also in other countries!
