Up Close and Personal PORTADA.png

Another week and another Splinterlands challenge, this time the selected Battle Rule is: Up Close and Personal, which consists in that only Melee cards can be used. This is one of my favorite rules, only being able to use Melee cards can be quite fun, as there are many combinations and strategies to choose from, especially if we focus on using cards that have the "Thorns" or "Demoralize" ability, as these are abilities that affect cards of this type a lot. So without further ado, these are today's battles with the Up Close and Personal Battle Rule:

Up Close and Personal SEPARADOR.png

The two battles today I chose the DEATH summoner (Zintar Mortalis), since its ability is to reduce the Melee attack of my opponent's cards, being this a perfect ability for this occasion, and although the two battles are with this deck, they are totally different strategies. In first position I placed: CURSED WINDEKU, this is one of those cards that are perfect for this type of battles, not only because it has a large amount of life points, thus being able to resist a good batch of physical damage, but thanks to its ability "Thorns", it manages to make every Melee attack received by card of an enemy card, that card is affected by that ability.

The next three (3) positions are composed by cards with the "Sneak" ability, being the first of them and occupying the second position: SKELETON ASSASSIN, one of my first cards in my collection and one of those cards that I still use a lot in my battles, because it is still very useful. In third position is the second card with "Sneak" ability and that card is: SILENT SHA-VI, a very good card, a card whose mana cost is very well balanced with its stats, SILENT SHA-VI is a card with good life and attack points, but especially is a very fast card thanks to its six (6) points in speed. In fourth position and being the last card with the "Sneak" ability; but not the last card in this formation, is: URAEUS, another excellent card, one of those that are a perfect choice when you have little mana available. In penultimate position to slow down a little the speed of my opponent's cards, is: CREEPING OOZE with his ability "Slow". And to close this formation, in last position is: CORPSE FIEND.

In this second battle it was a little difficult to choose which cards to use, since the second Battle Rule was "Back to Basics", so no ability that the cards have will have any effect, something that is often difficult, especially in a battle where they are composed only by Melee type cards, so the strategy for this battle was as follows: In first position I placed: HARKLAW, since my priority was to use cards that had enough life points and this card was an optimal choice and also has an amount of shield that can be quite useful. In second position is: GOBLIN MECH, this is one of the best Melee cards there is, it is a very complete card and is quite strong both offensively and defensively, having a lot of life points and armor points.

In third position is one of my oldest cards: HAUNTED SPIRIT, one of my favorite cards of the DEATH deck and although this is a card that you can get more out of it by making use of its abilities, it is still a very strong card in this state. In third position is: PELACOR DECIEVER, this card is excellent because although it is quite cheap in terms of mana cost, it has a lot of life points, thus being able to resist great damage from enemy cards. In penultimate position is: EVER-HUNGRY SKULL, a card that against Magic Attack type cards is quite weak, since it barely has one (1) life point, against Melee or Ranged Attack type cards is very useful because EVER-HUNGRY SKULL is a card that has nine (9) points of armor, so you could say that against this type of cards is as if it had ten (10) points of life in total. And in the last position, as well as in the first battle is: CORPSE FIEND.

Up Close and Personal SEPARADOR.png
