Another week and another Splinterlands challenge (BATTLE MAGE SECRETS), in which all participants are assigned a "Battle Rule" (as I like to call it) with which we must work on it, that is, show and create a battle strategy based on that specific "Battle Rule". And this time, the rule assigned this weekly challenge is: "Briar Patch" and this rule is that at the beginning of the battle, all cards on the field start having the ability "Thorns", so using Melee cards is a waste because it would be detrimental to receive extra damage in this way. Whenever I am assigned this rule in a battle and as long as I have the opportunity, I like to use Magic Attack type cards and I especially like to use Obsidian Summoner, because this way I can boost the magic attacks and also avoid the extra damage caused by the "Thorns" ability. Therefore and due to the above mentioned, this was the strategy I used for the battle with "Briar Patch".
Since I decided to use Magic Attack type cards and also use the Obsidian summoner, this time I used one of my most basic and classic strategies, so I managed the best possible amount of mana available. In first position I placed a card that has no damage ability, but it compensates with a moderate amount of life points, which makes it a "tank card" and that card, which is in first position is: FAILED SUMMONER.
In second position I placed one of my favorite cards of the EARTH deck, because besides being a card that at the level of mana cost is quite "cheap" (so to speak) is due to one of his skills, which is one of my favorite, which is "Stun", is that this card is always part of my strategies when I use the Obsidian summoner. And that card is: SPIRIT SHAMAN.
In the next two positions, there are cards that like SPIRIT SHAMAN, have a low mana cost (also costing 4 mana points to be used). The first of them and occupying the third position, is: ELVEN MYSTIC, a card that at least in LVL in which I have it in my collection, does not have any ability, beyond being an excellent card to combine with the Obsidian summoner.
Occupying the fourth position is the third card that like SPIRIT SHAMAN and ELVEN MYSTIC has a low mana cost (also four mana points) and although this is a card that has a useful ability to eliminate any buff to any enemy card, because in this battle was also active the "Battle Rule": "Back To Basics", any ability that the cards have, are completely nullified.
In penultimate position is REGAL PERYTON, which is a card that I love to use with Obsidian. REGAL PERYTON is a card with very good stats, especially its high speed score, counting in LVL 3 with six (6) speed points, so it is a very fast and evasive card.
And to close this formation, in last position is a card that does not need much introduction: SPIRIT MINER, which unfortunately, due to the "Back To Basics" rule, its excellent ability cannot be used, but it is still a card capable of causing a lot of damage and another of those cards that I like to combine with Obsidian.
