I was confused about this topic at first, was thinking if i should write about an impromptu exam or test, actually I was cut up with both and i experience both, so am gonna write about both😁

Let's start with the exam. I actually find it funny, which is why I intend to write about it first.

It was a beautiful cloudy day, my favorite kind of weather, but I love it more if I am indoors just sleeping or sipping hot cocoa, instead I had AGX 401 exam to write on this fateful morning. I was at 400 l and I usually read my courses two weeks ahead once the time table is out.

Why? Well because I find it quite easy to grasp if I read two weeks according to the first course on the exam timetable.

I had AGX 401 on this beautiful cloudy Thursday morning. I was supposed to have ANS 402 next Monday, so basically I am supposed to read through the ANX 402 course during the weekend to sit very well for the exam.

I was all prepared,my biro was ready to get to work, and do justice to AGX 401. I was already in front of the exam hall thirty minutes to commence, while others were still busy cracking their heads at the very dim minutes, that was how confident I was to express all I've read in styles.

All of a sudden the exam officials came at about 9am and announced that AGX 401 has been shifted due to linked questions, and we're writing ANS 401 now in regards we'll be given five hours to reverse and read through.

My legs were all shaking, I was all sweaty as I developed anxiety, I was not the only one panicking though, my course mates were in chaos, the whole place was scattered. People were running to the hostel to get their ANS 401 Note, others living offk were stopping keke straight home and some were pairing,.... Within 15 mins not a single fly of my course mate could be found anywhere around the exam premises. Everyone has carried their own kettle on how to read ANS 401.

I rushed to my room and started searching., "Where is it?" "Where is it?" Slinked opened my reading table desk and found the note lying down at the bottom end, grabbed it and rushed down to the reading class, as if I was being chased by a ghost. I was in tension, my brain was not organized. I placed the note on the desk and opened it from the very start, and for a moment it seemed like every word was written in Arabic.

I usually find it hard reading under tension or pressure, to tell the truth I haven't really read ANS401 since the lecture days. It was my first time opening the note, because of that I find it very hard to grasp. I can't read like this. I need to calm myself down, I looked at the time and I still have 4 hours 30 mins to go.

Ok there's still time I thought, I decided to take a walk with some music on just to grasp a bit of fresh air and empty my mind. After 20 mins of walking, I came back to the class, glanced at the book and from beginning to ending and just nothing was entering my head.

Usually my formula in reading was, understanding the words first by imagining examples and creativity with every explanation and definition on each topic, this way i tend to express myself at the exam hall writing with my own explanation and understanding instead of copying and pasting every detail definition back to the lecturer.

Surprisingly on this very day its as if all my understanding were blocked, i couldn't move further, maybe because everything was happening so damn fast, i tried to cram but the timing was just so short nothing was entering my brain, i thought about writing some definitions down on my pam maybe do a little expo with a piece of paper, hold on! "how can i do expo when i don't even know or can't explain what am doing expo for. .

30 minutes left before the exam commenced, I tried to ease myself of the pressure. Then it was time. I went into the exam hall confidently as if I'd read the whole note and knew the answers to each question. You know that confident look you give as if you're ready to murder the course and yet when you're given the exam sheet you see yourself shitting your pants, thick sweat dripping out your forehead?? Yapp that was how I found myself.

I was staring at the exam questions and answer sheets for close to 39 mins. I couldn't answer one single question, funny enough they were all easy and from previous past questions if only i read. Well "i'll have to write the course next section" i thought, which means I am sure of a legit F9 no doubt about that.

I raised my head and what I saw gave me a little bit of relief. I saw others submitting empty booklets, well guess I'm not the only one on the boat, that gave me some confidence. I closed my empty booklet and walked straight to the front and submitted mine. "Let me go prepare for tomorrow's paper and stop wasting my time here," I said.

When the ANS401 result came out mennn it was a mass failure, just 10 people out of 110 people passed the course. Well i was not surprised seeing a big fat F9 on my result in fact i was happy because i'm not the only one in the ship 😁

Though it was hilarious and funny and my whole course mates were making fun of it by mocking each other and the lecturer, it gave us something to talk and laugh about, but I made sure I grasped the lessons learned from this experience, and that was.

"Always do things early, bit by bit without jampacking studies or anything in life at once. And as such the first day of lecture my reading starts, instead of waiting 2 weeks before exam to start reading, i started reading as soon as the lecturer is done teaching for the day, that way it was easier for me to revise at the dime minutes of impromptu whatever

In 500l my finals, I enrolled ANS401 Again that was the only carry over course I had, I was fully prepared and I did excellent, I got a B then when the results came out.

Well I guess this article is already longer than my arm so i'll keep the other impromptu test story to myself.

Till we read again kudos!
