There was a lot of buzz yesterday about there being a snowstorm today, so I wasn't really paying attention since I thought it's another one of those morning when the road is snowy and that's it.

When I woke up today tho the view I had from the window sort of scared me at first. It was snowing rapidly and really thick snow was coming down from the sky, everything was covered in snow and the wind was blowing like crazy, trees were swinging and doors were banging.

The streets were like this all over -

When it got to the moment I had to drive to work I was actually scared, because the snow from the roads wasn't thrust away by the big machines and the road was really slippery everywhere, it was fun at the small city because of drifting at corners, but when getting to the highway, I actually froze and drove the entire way to Tallinn without even blinking, I was actually afraid I would make some stupid mistake and end up in some ditch or worse.

About worse - there was an really bad crash today with an minivan and an line bus in Estonia because of road conditions.
Thankfully no-one died, atleast not yet, the driver of the minivan tho was taken to the ambulance in critical conditions, everyone in the line bus stayed in one piece and were just banged up a bit.

All my prayers go out to the driver of the minivan!

So back to the main topic.

When I reached to Tallinn, I immediately saw a lot of traffic jams from the city border and a lot of snow around so I snatched this picture. This sort of jams lasted for about ~15km into the town and we were averagely moving about 10km/h maximum..

Now, about 7 hours later, the roads have started to melt a little and there's now salt around almost everywhere to prevent sliding and making it more safe, so props to the road people!
I'm off to work now in 1 hour so I hope I can get home in one piece and safe.

To everyone who is driving around in Estonia today, please be careful and don't over estimate your skills!

Stay safe!
