I flew toward a rebel outpost and discovered a hidden cave system called The Spinebreak. Using a code, I unlocked a sealed door to recover ancient valuables. Upon exiting, I fought several machines, took two down silently and destroyed the remaining aggressive ones in open combat before flying away.
I was flying toward a rebel outpost when I spotted an intriguing location called The Spinebreak. It looked like a hidden space tucked deep inside the mountain, so I decided to drop down and check it out.
As I explored the cavernous pathway, I came across a heavy sealed door that required a specific entry code to unlock. I was not really interested in spending hours hunting around the cave for clues, so I quickly looked up the code on Google. The code was 2054, and as soon as I entered it, the heavy door was opened for me.
I stepped inside expecting a side quest or something similar, but there was only an ancient safe sitting in the dark room. I gathered the valuable loot from inside and prepared to leave.
I headed back out of the cave, but I was not about to leave without a proper fight as I noticed several machines lurking around the area. There was a Leaplasher, an Apex Burrower, and an Apex Leaplasher patrolling around.
I took my time and waited for them to turn their backs, careful not to rush into a bad position. One machine looked like an easy target, but it suddenly drifted closer to its companions.
As I made my move, one of the machines turned in my direction. It seemed to spot me, though it was not entirely sure of my presence. It alerted the others, and they immediately began scanning the area while closing in on my position.
When the first machine got close enough, I landed a clean silent strike and took it down instantly. The Apex Burrower rushed over to investigate its fallen companion, but I caught it off guard and eliminated it with another quick silent strike.
With two machines cleared out, only one was left. Since it had already spotted me, hiding was no longer an option. I jumped right into action, and the machine leaped toward me at the same time.
These machines jump around like kangaroos, constantly bouncing through the air to close the distance. I backed up to keep a safe distance, firing off attacks while dodging its wild leaps.
Just as I managed to take that one down, another machine suddenly appeared out of nowhere. It managed to deal some damage, but I quickly dodged out of harm's way and countered. After a swift exchange, I brought the final machine down.
With the area clear and the battle finished, I mounted my Sunwing and flew off toward the rebel outpost, leaving the mountain cave behind.
