When fences are stretched around where many trees are. It is a constant job to check the fences and do repair work on them
It was no different yesterday. If you have livestock, fences are a must. And good fences are better to have if possible.
I don't recommend that expensive new fencing be put around the woods or large groups of trees. You will be working on them from time to time.
The down tree above did have a fence around it.

We had some tools to use to repair the fence.

I had to clear the brush and briers around the fence line. That has to be done first.

Broken strands were on the ground. Not good with livestock in the field.
Two horses in this case.

Not good as you can see. That has to be redone to get the fence back up.

I cleaned around the target tree. I will use this one to anchor to.
Pat helped me a little. Please hand that to me or the other. Big help too.

The old work truck is handy. We had fence and tools in it.

This is going to be temporary fencing at best. Strands of barbed wire.
Race horse farms do not have a strand of barbed wire on the place.
Too dangerous to the valuable horses.

I have completed some of the replacement in the photo below.

Three strand were put up at this side of the field and woods.

Two strands on this side of the field corner.

Both sides of the corner are finished. Barbed wire is dangerous to work with.
You have to be careful. If you snap it under pressure. You can get seriously cut.

We are finished here with this side

And on this side too.

We are now done and happy. Let's go to the "Big Boy" and eat at the "Breakfast Bar"
this Tuesday evening. The Frischs at town has this special every Tuesday evening.
You would not believe the number of people that show up.
People that you would rarely see at a restaurant. They are there. Ha

So we cleaned up a little. Climbed into the big red monster.
While we were driving, we listened to some good easy music.

Bingo. There he is. I love to see this "Big Boy." lol

The end of a hard day at the "hilltop" homestead. It can be work.
But, we try to add a little fun to it as well.
Did I tell you about good eating? Ha

Thank you for experiencing with us some of our day yesterday.
I hope you found something interesting and maybe some learning too.
