Why not say "a day at the beach" Francis?
Because words have meaning. We did spend some time at the beach. But, not the whole day.
For instance. If I tell you "I love you." Would I be saying it to win you over to myself. Or, is it a true feeling from my heart that is totally and completely true?
Just an early day offering of thought to you to think about and ponder for yourself.
The two ladies on the beach. Do I love them? Or would I just be saying that because it is expected of me?
See how that works?

Enough of that. Let's look around and see some of what is to be found around our Venice Florida Beach.
The beach area is more than just sand.

This is posted to let us know what we might see while we are here.

Some more of the vegetation and looking to the Gulf of Mexico.

Some sand, blue sky, and looking back at the bathroom facilities.

The people that like the beach have been situated and resting where they like it.

It was not cold. But, it was cool to me. Katie didn't think so. She had been in near zero temperatures at times.

Now we look to our left down the beach and see the Venice Fishing Pier.

This is the Fins Restaurant at Sharky's on the Pier.

Pigeons are a common site on the beach and at the outside restaurant area.
Some of them were walking around our feet as we were eating. Looking for a drop of food.
I was a little afraid I might step on one. But, they stayed out of the way.
Just two or three were staying around our feet while at the table.

Seagulls are always on the beach area. Looking for a handout. Ha

This is the Sharky's Restaurant and outside tiki bar. Both inside and outside facilities.We chose the outside.

One brave soul was in the water. The water was cool at first as we walked along in the edge.
But, it was soon OK to stay in shallow water. But not waist deep for me. Ha

Looking toward the end of the pier. The storms in the past have nearly destroyed it at different times. But now. It has been designed to resist very strong winds.
If properly constructed. Hurricanes doesn't mean as much.

We were down the beach south of Sharky's. This is looking north back up to Sharky's.

Before I go. I wanted to show you the entrance to the pier. Many walk out on the pier each day and some people like to fish from the pier. Many sharks are caught here and photos are at the bait shop for some of them.

I have much more to show. But, I will let you see what I have seen later. Maybe in the next few days.

A trip to the nearby beach is always relaxing. I was running on the beach some. Getting back into practice of running. Then Katie and I ran a little back to the truck. I had not thought of running for many years. When running with someone else. It is more interesting.

Fair warning on this video. If you don't like girls and especially seeing beach girls.
