Hello Hivers! Today I'd like to tell you about one of my favorite romantic comedies starring an endearing couple, whose unmatched chemistry makes it still one of my favorites. This movie took on a new value for me as an adult, when I first saw it I wasn't even out of high school, but it has a place in my heart because of how funny and entertaining its story is, which has made it become a classic of the genre.
And guess what, it's another adaptation! The concept comes from a book called How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days: The Universal Do's And Don'ts Of Dating by Michele Alexander and Jeannie Long, just like Andie's co-workers Michelle and Jeannie.

Est谩 pel铆cula adquiri贸 un nuevo valor para m铆 despu茅s de adulto, cuando la vi por primera vez ni hab铆a salido de la secundaria, pero tiene un lugar en mi coraz贸n por lo divertida y amena que es su historia, lo que ha hecho que se convierta en un cl谩sico del g茅nero.
驴Y adivina qu茅? 隆Es otra adaptaci贸n! El concepto viene de un libro el cual tiene por nombre How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days: The Universal Do's And Don'ts Of Dating sus autoras se llaman Michele Alexander y Jeannie Long igual que las compa帽eras de trabajo de Andie, Michelle y Jeannie.
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a film released in 2003 by Paramount Pictures under the direction of Donald Petrie written by Kristen Buckley, Brian Regan and Burr Steers, has a duration of approximately 1 hour 56 minutes. It starred Kate Hudson, Matthew McConaughey, Kathryn Hahn and Annie Parisse.
The film's photography was under the direction of John Bailey and accompanied by a soundtrack very much in tune with what's going on directed by David Newman.

Andie Anderson (Kate Hudson) is a journalist who writes for a women's variety magazine called Composure in which she wants to move up and talk about more serious topics such as politics and events so she sets herself the goal of writing one last article. In this last article Andie will have the task of telling women the mistakes they make to end up losing a guy in a limit of 10 days. For that she will take as a guinea pig the most eligible and macho bachelor Benjamin Barry (Matthew McConaughey) who has also made a bet that prevents him from not seeing Andie. She and her friends will do anything to get Benjamin away as soon as possible.
On the other hand Benjamin who works in an advertising agency must romance Andie to get a job promotion so he has to put up with Andie's tantrums at all costs. They both share the desire to move up the career ladder and end up falling in love. Ben wins his bet and Andie also writes a great article but decides to leave after Ben's friends accidentally tell him that she was part of a bet for a promotion.
Andie Anderson (Kate Hudson) es una periodista que escribe para una revista de variedades femeninas llamada Composure en la quiere ascender y hablar de temas m谩s serios como pol铆tica y sucesos as铆 que se pone como meta escribir un 煤ltimo art铆culo. En este 煤ltimo art铆culo Andie tendr谩 la tarea de contarle a las mujeres los errores que cometen para terminar perdiendo a un hombre en un l铆mite de 10 d铆as. Para eso tomar谩 como conejillo de indias al soltero m谩s codiciado y machista Benjamin Barry (Matthew McConaughey) que tambi茅n ha hecho una apuesta que le impide dejar de ver a Andie. Ella con sus amigas har谩n lo que sea para alejar a Benjam铆n lo antes posible.
Por otra parte Benjam铆n quien trabaja en una agencia de publicidad debe enamorar a Andie para ascender laboralmente as铆 que tiene que soportar los berrinches de Andie a toda costa. Ambos comparten el anhelo de ascender laboralmente y terminan enamor谩ndose. Ben gana su apuesta y Andie tambi茅n escribe un gran art铆culo pero decide irse luego de que los amigos de Ben le contar谩n accidentalmente que ella era parte de una apuesta para un ascenso.
At the beginning of the film Andie proposes to write an article about the political situation in Tajikistan, a South Central Asian country; which is rejected by the editor as having nothing to do with the topics covered in the magazine. I find it rather implausible that if she wants to devote herself to more serious topics, she chooses to take the easier and sillier route.
I also thought it was a bit of a romantic idea that Andie didn't sleep with Ben on the first date. Maybe that was a different era than the one we're living in but how macho of the director. Although if he did take her to bed it was going to be a bit obvious that the story line would fall apart, as any man will put up with anything before having sex.
I must say I love the couple in this film both are benchmarks in the genre especially Kate (Bride Wars) even though Matthew is 10 years older than Kate it wasn't that noticeable. Kate and Matthew are great together they combine perfectly with his seriousness and her femininity. They are a charming couple like few others in the industry.
Al principio de la pel铆cula Andie propone escribir un art铆culo sobre la situaci贸n pol铆tica de Tayikist谩n un pa铆s del centro sur de Asia; el cual es rechazado por la editora por no tener nada que ver con los temas que se trataban en la revista. Me parece bastante inveros铆mil que si quiere dedicarse a temas m谩s serios, elija tomar el camino m谩s f谩cil y m谩s tonto.
Tambi茅n me pareci贸 una idea un poco romanticona que Andie no se acostara con Ben a la primera cita. Quiz谩s aquella era otra 茅poca distinta a la que estamos viviendo pero que machista por parte del director. Aunque si se la llevaba a la cama iba a ser un poco evidente que la l铆nea narrativa de la historia se ven铆a abajo, ya que cualquier hombre aguanta cualquier cosa antes de tener sexo.
Debo decir que me encanta la pareja de esta pel铆cula ambos son referentes en el g茅nero sobretodo Kate (Guerra de Novias) a pesar de que Matthew es 10 a帽os mayor que Kate no se notaba tanto. Kate y Matthew est谩n muy bien juntos combinan perfectamente con la seriedad de 茅l y la feminidad de ella. Son una encantadora pareja como pocas en la industria.
Their performances are very believable and the chemistry between the actors is perfect. Matthew McConaughey is impeccable with the character of a man with extreme self-confidence that evolves during the development of the plot, where among other things he learns that love means showing patience and above all respecting your fellow man.
Ben's most distinctive trait is his equanimity, while Andie annoys him with her behavior he can only be patient despite the stupid things his partner does, imagine having that balance over your feelings, that nothing and no one disturbs your peace and above all keep a serene mind. It is definitely a very good lesson to learn while laughing with this romantic comedy.
Another thing I will never tire of saying is how repetitive Kathryn Hahn's role is as Michelle Rueben the typical movie best friend, the industry has pigeonholed her in that kind of bland characters that don't add anything to the plot. A shame because Kathryn has a lot of talent, she proved it with gusto in her most recent role as Agnes/Agatha Harkness in the Marvel Universe series Wandavision. An amazing actress who deserves more credit and recognition.
Sus actuaciones son muy cre铆bles y la qu铆mica entre los actores es perfecta. Matthew McConaughey est谩 impecable con el personaje de un hombre con extrema autoconfianza que va evolucionando durante el desarrollo de la trama, donde entre otras cosas aprende que el amor significa mostrar paciencia y sobretodo respetar a tus semejantes.
El rasgo m谩s distintivo de Ben es su ecuanimidad, mientras Andie lo molesta con su comportamiento 茅l solo puede tener paciencia a pesar de las estupideces que hace su pareja, imagina tener ese equilibrio sobre tus sentimientos, que nada ni nadie perturbe tu paz y que por encima de todo mantengas la mente serena. Definitivamente es una muy buena lecci贸n para aprender mientras re铆mos con esta comedia rom谩ntica.
Otra cosa que no me cansare de decir es lo repetitivo que es el papel de Kathryn Hahn como Michelle Rueben la t铆pica mejor amiga de pel铆cula, la industria la ha encasillado en ese tipo de personajes sonsos que no aportan nada a la trama. Una l谩stima porque Kathryn tiene mucho talento, lo demostr贸 con ganas en su m谩s reciente papel como Agnes/Agatha Harkness en la serie del universo Marvel Wandavision. Una actriz incre铆ble que merece m谩s m茅rito y reconocimiento.
In the end Ben realizes Andie is leaving and decides to chase her down the highway where they finally reconcile in a romantic scene on the Brooklyn Bridge. A rather predictable ending but iconic nonetheless.
A love comedy that talks about human relationships and how complicated they are, for me a story to have a good time with good company. I love the classics so my score for this film will be 7/10.
Al final Ben se da cuenta que Andie se va y decide perseguirla por la autopista donde finalmente se reconcilian en una rom谩ntica escena en el puente Brooklyn. Un final bastante predecible pero que no deja de ser ic贸nico.
Una comedia de amor que habla de las relaciones humanas y lo complicadas que son, para m铆 una historia para pasar un buen rato con una buena compa帽铆a. Me encantan los cl谩sicos as铆 que mi puntuaci贸n para este filme ser谩 de 7/10.
