Hello everyone, I was looking for a community where you can share my works ... my name is Francesca, I have been married to Raffaele for 26 years. We have 12 children and I started working with threads and knots at the age of 7. Since I was a child my mother started me in crochet and knitting but then over the years I have completely abandoned it. As soon as I got married I took a course for a seamstress and then I learned to embroider cross stitch. For years I made everything by myself, especially the clothes. Then we started as a missionary family of the catholic church in Albania and from there I gave up all my handicraft jobs. There were many difficulties in learning a new language and the culture of a new place and they absorbed me for years. Then 7 years ago in a moment of deep despair after reading a book called "tales of a Russian pilgrim" I tried to make my first "prayer rope" or komboskini which was mentioned in the book ... from there it was a crescendo until I also resumed crochet during the Covid ... all the works in the photos are mine ... Buongiorno a tutti,stavo cercando proprio una community dove porte condividere i miei lavori ... mi chiamo Francesca sono sposata con Raffaele da 26 anni. Abbiamo 12 figli e da 7 anni ho iniziato a lavorare con i fili e i nodi. Fin da piccola la mia mamma mi ha iniziata all'uncinetto e al lavoro ai ferri ma poi negli anni l'ho abbandonato completamente. Appena sposata ho fatto un corso per sarta e poi ho imparato a ricamare il punto croce. Per anni ho fatto tutto da sola , soprattutto i vestiti. Poi siamo partiti come famiglia missionaria della chiesa cattolica in Albania e da lì ho abbandonato tutti i miei lavori artigianali. Le difficoltà per imparare una nuova lingua e la cultura di un nuovo posto erano tante e mi hanno assorbito per anni. Poi 7 anni fa in un momento di profondo sconforto dopo aver letto un libro che si chiama " racconti di un pellegrino russo " ho provato a fare la mia prima "corda di preghiera" o komboskini di cui si parlava nel libro ...da lì è stato un crescendo fino ad aver ripreso durante il Covid anche l'uncinetto... tutti i lavori nelle foto sono miei ... vi racconterò altro nei prossimi post.
