The next destination the travel bug took me to was a 6 week trip around Europe including the UK. This trip was such a massive learning curve for me, I put myself way out of my comfort zone by joining a 21 day Contiki trip before spending a few weeks with family in the motherland, also known as the UK, back in March of 2014.
But first Contiki. Yes it is such cliche thing for Australians to do a Contiki but damn it taught me a lot. Before this trip I was so quiet and had absolutely no confidence in myself, I was very fortunate to have an amazing group though. We all just clicked and now, almost 4 years later, I still class this group of people as some of the most amazing individuals I have ever met.
This trip took me to quite a few locations around Europe, so I am going to split it up - otherwise it’ll be a very long post! So the first two destinations were Paris and Lucerne in Switzerland.
Paris really is the city of love. I fell in love with the sights, the food, the people, just everything this city has to offer, is just incredible. We did get to go to the Moulin Rouge which was spectacular! I sat with my mouth open the entire show, it really was breath taking. I was also lucky enough to be pulled up on stage to help with part of an act - sadly, no cameras were allowed inside so I have no photos but it was an awesome experience.
The next city we visited was Lucerne. I’ve always wanted to go to Switzerland so was so excited when we arrived. It’s such a beautifully, stunning place. It was just WOW on every level.
Definitely two amazing cities I would recommend visiting in a heartbeat! More travel adventures coming up.......stayed tuned :)
