rage is a strong word... I think I managed to take my walk-walking-medicine in time to prevent that undirected anger from turning into uncontrolled rage... but that's just bickering about the choice of words.
Dealing with a challenge that requires an almost infinite amount of patience sometimes turns into a moment of frustration and once it has started heating up it gets tough to find a way to ease the tension again...
So far I've been avoiding to put the topic up on the blockchain, I feel like it doesn't belong here.
...
My grandmother has Alzheimer's and it's been getting a lot worse this year. During the end of the first lockdown she fell and broke her hip and ever since she's been released from the hospital I've basically moved in with her to take care of her needs.
I'm her only family within the country and I love her from the bottom of my heart. Getting her into institutionalized care, especially during this pandemic madness, is not an option I would consider and so I find myself in Don Quixote's shoes sometimes when every day feels like groundhog day and I am just struggling to maintain some normalcy for grandma while my own life has to step back.
Her bones have healed well and physically she's recovered and doing great again, but the temporary immobilization has taken a huge mental toll and she has lost most of her independence during the time.
I'm not sure how this will all pan out but I'll try to give my best as long as I can.
