I suoi capelli sono neri e ricordano vagamente un taglio militare per via della rasatura nella parte posteriore della testa, sul capo invece li tiene abbastanza lunghi. Levi è un uomo basso ma molto muscoloso, per via dell'eccessivo uso del dispositivo di manovra tridimensionale.
Le occhiaie rendono il suo sguardo molto intimidatorio ma allo stesso tempo poco espressivo, inoltre risulta molto difficile per gli altri indovinare cosa stia pensando dato il suo atteggiamento estremamente calmo.
Personalità
Levi viene descritto come un "maniaco delle pulizie" da quelli che lo conoscono personalmente, in quanto tende sempre a voler tenere le cose estremamente pulite. É avverso nell'essere, o nell'avere la sua attrezzatura sporchi, e lo si vede spesso pulire le sue lame, sporche di sangue nemico.
Anche se poco spesso, Levi mostra un senso di grande empatia. Questo viene dimostrato quando invita le persone accanto a lui ad avere giudizio nel fare scelte importanti, e di compierle sempre senza pentirsi della decisione, in modo da evitare errori che potrebbero costare loro la vita. Più di una volta afferma di odiare le vittime inutili ed innocenti...
Mentre da un lato dimostra una grande fedeltà per i suoi compagni, dall'altro elimina senza alcuna pietà i giganti. Durante le operazioni, li abbatte con estrema facilità e, talvolta, addirittura con indifferenza, arrivando a salvare parecchie situazioni che normali soldati non riescono ad affrontare, con semplici interventi. Contro i giganti, Levi si rivela sadico e vendicativo, come quando si diverte ad umiliare il Gigante Femmina intrappolato e a torturarlo psicologicamente con agghiaccianti minacce.
PASSATO
Levi nasce nella Città Sotterranea, in un anno imprecisato prossimo all'820. Sua madre, Kuchel Ackerman, era una prostituta che lavorava in un bordello con lo pseudonimo di "Olympia" e rimase incinta di uno dei suoi clienti. Nonostante Kenny provò a convincere la sorella ad abortire, Kuchel decise di non farlo e mise al mondo Levi. Tuttavia, non molti anni dopo la sua nascita, la ragazza si ammalò per via del suo lavoro e morì, abbandonando il giovane Levi, che in quegli anni crebbe traumatizzato e fisicamente indebolito, senza nessuno ad occuparsi di lui. Successivamente alla morte di Kuchel, Kenny si ripresenta al bordello per far visita alla sorella e la trova morta con Levi accanto che accudisce il suo cadavere. Kenny si presenta come un conoscente della madre, nascondendo il suo grado di parentela e decidendo di crescere Levi per non fargli fare la stessa miserabile fine di Kuchel.

His hair is black and vaguely reminiscent of a military cut because of the shave at the back of his head, on the head, however, he keeps it quite long. Levi is a short but very muscular man because of the excessive use of the three-dimensional maneuvering device.
The dark circles under his eyes make his gaze very intimidating but at the same time not very expressive, also it is very difficult for others to guess what he is thinking given his extremely calm demeanor.
Personality
Levi is described as a "clean freak" by those who know him personally, as he always tends to want to keep things extremely clean. He is averse to being, or having his equipment dirty, and is often seen cleaning his blades, which are soiled with enemy blood.
Although not often, Levi shows a sense of great empathy. This is demonstrated when he urges the people beside him to have judgment in making important choices, and to always make them without regretting the decision, so as to avoid mistakes that could cost them their lives. More than once he states that he hates useless and innocent victims....
While on the one hand he shows great loyalty for his comrades, on the other hand he eliminates giants without any mercy. During operations, he shoots them down with extreme ease and sometimes even with indifference, going so far as to save several situations that normal soldiers cannot cope with, with simple interventions. Against the giants, Levi proves to be sadistic and vindictive, as when he enjoys humiliating the trapped Female Giant and psychologically torturing him with chilling threats.
PAST
Levi was born in the Undercity in an unspecified year close to 820. His mother, Kuchel Ackerman, was a prostitute who worked in a brothel under the pseudonym "Olympia" and became pregnant by one of her clients. Although Kenny tried to convince his sister to have an abortion, Kuchel decided against it and gave birth to Levi. However, not many years after his birth, she became ill from her work and died, leaving young Levi, who grew up traumatized and physically weakened during those years, with no one to care for him. Subsequent to Kuchel's death, Kenny returns to the brothel to visit his sister and finds her dead with Levi beside her, tending her corpse. Kenny introduces himself as an acquaintance of his mother, concealing his degree of kinship and deciding to raise Levi so that he does not end up the same miserable end as Kuchel.
