I know when it comes to V-day, I make sure to remind ahead of time to never get me anything special. I like having date ideas, but I don't like that we come to think of it more and making it more special just because of this commercialized day. It should be something celebrated whenever you feel your heart flutters when you think of that significant other. When you are away and thinking of that person and get excited to see him/her as you are just steps away from the entrance.
I have lost the flutters and misses years back and dont care for it much these days either, but I do miss the thrills, the adventures and those connecting times when you share a moment that is so strong that no words can surface but when you look at the other, you know what is being said and tis the same. Two energies that have become one. And so I pass it on to my kids, I do what I can to share those moments with them and on V-day, I do buy a few things on low budget so they can get a bit of excitement and to share little cards with their friends. I'm guilty for that lol. I don't go over the top, $20 spent total that covers all 3 kids is definitely enough.
I think the times you have both shared are wonderful moments and I think even making food together is wonderful, not just a one person task and there's an appreciation for the help. I can also say that I appreciate your spunk, lying about there being no place to have coffee :P lol Made me giggle.
The lake view is beautiful, and... how did you get stuck in the lavatory btw? That is funny stuff!
