Last week I have received a strong message with a huge impact.
I went to check on my garden and to my surprise I found a dead bird where I grow onions. It always saddens me to see such wonderous creatures lying on the ground on their backs.
I quickly paced back to the house in search of what species of bird this was.

Such soft looking birds, small and beautiful.
I then looked up the meaning of this bird and what it represents.
Gentleness.
Courtesy.
Transformation.
Consciousness.
Masks.
Ceremonial wear.
Wish to give.
Wish to receive.
Politeness.
Society.
Thankfulness.
Clear perspective.
Gratitude.
Migration.
It shows up when:
You are feeling selfish.
Something is unacceptable to you.
You are overindulging yourself.
You have lost your politeness.
You are afraid of scarcity.
...And much more. If you are curious and want to read more about the meanings and the sorts, check the link
So as you can see, this bird is very important and one to respect.
I immediately sent a message to my friend to figure out why the message was being sent in this manner; a dead bird.
Most often, the message could mean death, like someone may die, quite the superstition. But it could also mean the death of something different, as in the end. It could be the end of a career, of stressful times, even the end of relationships.
Shortly after doing the bit of research, I found out 2 more had died. One beside the first one I found and the other was farther away. That got me worried.
Either something bad was going to happen and soon or, the way I felt it, the message is to be taking most seriously.
To be most respectful for what has been gifted to me, to respect these birds and the sacrifice given to send the message that I needed to have, I took and I offered.
I layed down tobacco in its resting place in respect to this offering. I then picked it up held it in my hand as I took. I mindfully took some feathers from wings and tail, but only took a little as something told me that this bird still needed to fly. I did the same with the other one.
When I was done, I brought the birds to another resting place in the forest and lied them by a tree. I gave my thanks for the offering and let them lie in peace.
This is my bundle I collected. I am still learning about creating my bundles and using them for ceremonies and medicines. Feathers are sacred as:
they are our connection to Creator, the keepers of our environment and protectors and guiders of our existence.
Your bundle consists of what is important to you in order that you walk a good path and maintain spiritual, physical, mental and emotional health.
There is a lot of information on a site that was shared to me
I also want to use the tiny feathers to make answer feather gifts. Giving these little gifts when people search for wisdom gives a sense of being helpful, especially in instances where we feel as though we can't do anything or say anything that could help.
Why do I share this information?
I share all this information for the same reason to why I seek it.
My roots are First Nation and find it very important that I find out where I come from, that I learn these valuable teachings. Sometimes it can be hard to find all this information when we are alone in our journeys. My family are not interested in learning and those before me that would know have passed on.
So if this is good information that you have been seeking as well, if there's something you have learned of value, let me know in the comments and if there is more you would like to share, please do, as I am open to learn what I can!
