With so many adjusting to being stuck at home, I realize I'm doing y'all a disservice by not sharing my stuck-at-home tips. For the past 3 years, I have been stuck at home. Prior to this, I was hardly ever home. Wife had to remind me that family is important and I'd schedule a 4-6 hour block of time to be home

Workaholism is real. Toward the end of my productive life, I was down to three businesses and active in the local small business community. From working 16-hour days 6 days per week, to sitting here. That's an exaggeration - it's not always sitting. Sometimes I lie down :D

It was an incredibly difficult transition. With my social life structured around businesses and business owners, I didn't have the kind of friends that come over just to hang out. Not only was I stuck at home, my social interactions dropped to almost nill. Thankfully, there's Hive!

How did I do it? How does one go from lying on the floor crying to.... well, anything else really?

Embrace boredom

Crazy right? Boredom is something humans used to have more of - waiting in lines, riding in vehicles without infotainment, waiting for the copier to finish, etc. We were often bored. Embrace it. Tremendous amounts of growth become available when you're bored. Gaze out a window for a few hours. Look for interesting patterns in the randomness of the carpet or wall - bonus points, find the interesting pattern again later!

This is the best time ever for most of you to pick up a meditation practice. Work on those projects you've had half done around the house. Do some spring cleaning. Catch up on 10 years of missed self-care. Find your perfect coffee recipe. You might feel selfish doing all these things. I know I used to. You will get over that. Let yourself be bored, let the relaxation wash over you, and inspiration will eventually strike

Embrace boredom. Have good
