There’s a lot of complexity in a person’s brain. Disorganized thoughts, erratic and crazy moments, futile attempts to be better, or to recover a memory that no longer fits who we are—without realizing that we’re constantly changing.
And we change because life gives us a hard time, because life goes by and so does time—so fast that we don’t even notice. And it eventually sweeps us away.
Sometimes I can’t find a way to put something into words, and I distance myself from everyone—and that’s the point: often, silence and withdrawal speak louder than we can imagine—OF COURSE, as long as the people around you know you well enough to notice your absence, to notice that you’ve lost your sparkle, to notice that you’re not doing well.
And that’s why I’m here again today, trying once more to convince myself to stay in this world, looking for reasons to be better, to carry on, to love.
Just a few weeks ago, my sister, my husband, and my best friend have been constant pillars, reminding me of who I am, and that has made me reconsider.
Maybe I’m rambling; maybe nobody cares and this post will go unnoticed; maybe it doesn’t even reach the 500-word count that communities sometimes require. All I can say is that
my words are quite clear, that the message is right here—you just have to understand each paragraph—and that you don’t need a lot of fluff to speak clearly.
I always thought I could make a difference, and so far I haven’t, but I have done and learned something: to accept who I am and what I am, and to be very clear about what I want—even when things get a little blurry.
I admit that I’ve failed, that I’ve hated myself and neglected myself—but at least acknowledging this is the first step toward change.
I hope this isn’t just another failed attempt.
