Mientras yo suelo ver tormentas, ella siembra calma.

The love between sisters has that unique magic: it doesn’t need any frills to feel deep, because it’s built on a shared understanding, timely hugs, and that silent way of lifting you up when everything feels overwhelming.
To talk about Alex is to talk about everything beautiful in my life—my older sister—and the truth is, I don’t need a long, flowery description to describe her; if only you could see my eyes when I think of her.
Because yes, even though it might sound complicated—at least based on the sisterly relationships I know—I notice more and more that people don’t get along with their siblings, but mine are incredible—my whole life in other pieces.
And then there are people who come into your life to teach you how to walk and to scare away those others who stay to remind you that you can fly, even when you forget you have wings. For me, that person has always been my older sister; she’s helped me take flight even when I’m down.
Writing about the love between sisters is like stepping into a refuge that’s open 24/7. It’s not a perfect relationship, nor is it free of differences, but it is the most loyal bond I know. It’s knowing that, no matter how noisy or uncertain the world out there may be, there will always be someone who shares your roots and understands your silences without needing explanations—and we’re not just talking about silence; she interprets everything that happens to me. She knows; we don’t need direct communication—a glance or a hug, or even the clothes I wear—is enough. She’s even called me because she sensed I was feeling down; she just knows.
Then there are my gloomiest days—those when doubts weigh heavier than they should—and Ale arrives like a flickering light, letting me know that a hug from her will heal my soul.
While I tend to see storms, she sows calm. Her love hasn’t just been by my side; it’s been the sustenance of my dreams. She’s believed in my projects even before I could see them completed myself; she pushes me to keep going when my motivation is at zero.
Having an older sister means having a safe haven, having a timely conversation, sharing a laugh in the midst of chaos, or simply being there—stroking my hair and making me a delicious hot chocolate and a lunch I’ll never forget.
Whenever I can, I leave a reminder here that Ale and I could conquer the world if we wanted to, but for now, we’re conquering our own world and hearts.
I’ll always love you, @soyalex; I hope you’ll be back to your stories soon.
