Who am I? - for the newcomers...
I am an HPC Specialist (I deal with High Performance Machines), which started working on IT for general Businesses, back in 2009. Since then I have been working always close to IT (fortunately or not). In 2013 I have started my first bitcoin mining adventure, and from there a whole new world of knowledge has emerged.
My node (Code Name: XuNme!) 馃檭
Not yet fully advertised, but that's how I am calling it. And it is running for at least 27 consecutive days (read my last post about it here), with ONE interruption, due memory limits of the shared memory being reached. I am now using 20GB... it should be good for another couple months.
What I have been doing since... for crypto!
Not much in fact, but maintaining the hardware, software and mostly listening to the community. Why? Because of work reasons. My work is very demanding in spikes of 3 to 6 years patterns. When this happens, it's because we are changing the cluster from one technology to a completely new one. And that... IT IS FU......ing... time consuming. I can tell you...
For how long will it last?
Depends a bit about multiple factors, but the target is to be all clear and done on 1Q of 2018. So let's see if I can get free by then. I wish to come back in a different manner to Crypto. If I can!
My plans during the Christmas 馃巹 and wishes for the New 馃帄 Year!
I will maintain the node, and provide upgrades if necessary (in a timely manner). I plan now to do at least backups once a month. And that is for now slow, due the lack of having a proper distributed filesystem underneath. But, once I migrate to a completely open source NAS (late 2018), that will become a true! And then, its ZERO TIME backups, with near zero time restore time (with snapshots every hour possibly).
2018 is the Trillion Dollar 馃 BABY!
With Crytpo raising above half a trillion dollars in market cap... the 2018 will be for sure when we get to the trillions ladder! What that will bring to all of us? Well, in my view:
- Mass adoption of governments (pushed by liquidity and transaction volume facts).
- Emerging of the first Quantum Computing Based Blockchain! - AND I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS OK?! (possibly will not get published by 2018, but it will exist)
- Additional and more efficient proof of "blockchain" technologies.
- BOOM of transaction volume in DIRECT crypto-FIAT domain. If you do not plan to own a card by then, shame on you! LOL
- SuperComputers in the Blockchain! Yes... PetaFlop ones! If not Exa, or more!
- A surprisingly more CRYPTO Innovations... usually that happens once every year... or in fact, many to be exact. That is due the massive and Awesome Open Community of OpenSource Developers creating a hole new emerging society... I have kids! SO I care for this!
And possibly much more... that I could or can't say... yet.
Time off... 馃嵏
I know there is no such thing for crypto... otherwise you will... risk stuff. But that is what I will advertise. I need desperately to take some leave.
Relaxing and enjoying family is my priority until 2018 starts... But, that does not mean I would not be willing to use the platform. IN fact, it just drives the concept of being "more free" to specifically recur to it more often. So, yes, I will definitively be around, as always. Steem is and will always be a great thing to remember for me.

Really? Honestly I did not got this one planned... I am writing this after a big HOT weekend. So my body is still recovering from all the fun in sunshine and Wellington water tasting. Plus my wife birthday brought to all of us... REALLY AMAZING deserts that I have not had for quite some time... This is one of my favorite ones:
BABA DE CAMELO (camel drool) - 5 eggs and 1 pot of caramelized concentrated milk
(quite simple, but let me tell you how amazingly it tastes... HUMMMM)
