Things are getting super stable!

(ignore the sausage part...😆)

At this point the HIVE blockchain is already flowing in the usual performance. Some tiny pieces of the puzzle to tweak, but most of it is already here. Then, more apps will continuously make their way in.

New Zealand

Did you know that in New Zealand there are TONS of 🍯HONEY! =) Is that a joke? NO... Seriously! TONS of it, google it. Hopefully there will be also tons of new Hiveians being created with the arrival of HIVE, where I will gladly help by best way I can, supporting those growing initiatives.

This place is a very popular touristic group of islands (currently on lock down because of the idiot COVID-19) with lots of cool stuff to enjoy outdoors. Lots of interesting opportunities.

Briefly back to the COVID stuff, from tomorrow forward I am already instructed to work from home, meaning that I might be able to check on HIVE during breaks more often.

Portugal

My home country... which is now in a complete chaos because of the outbreak. Somehow, its on these times that I most feel connected with family and friends across Europe, especially Portugal where the majority of my family is. Calls are more regular and the need to exchange information that is precise and clear, a requirement to satisfy the worried mind.

In this case, it would make no difference to be there. But having technologies that allow me to connect at any time of the day with anyone in the world and be sure that NEWS are not censored, is a great deal to me.

So, what is preventing me to communicate only via that kind of technology?

Nothing really... but as you may know, communication requires a minimum of two entities. And I can have the ability to speak but others might not be able to listen.

Unfortunately this is also a problem that affects mass adoption. Which can be put as a set of attributes that would make users adopt a certain type of platform easily. Nowadays, when things get used by Millions... it is basically reason enough for everyone to stop thinking and just try it out without further investigation. And that is when (I would say) you have mass adoption. But, if that is not done right, it can also fail very quickly or have consequences for the platform (and we have plenty experience from this already from STEEM).

Planning with caution and maintaining an open mind are two interesting balanced factors. Which in some sense are something you have remarkably present on blockchain technology. What just happened on the governance plateau is an outstanding proof of this experimentation, that many identify with something dear to them. To that revolutionizing movement, lets call it a community for now.

The future of HIVE

Will we get there? I have a couple of lines in my eye of sight, but in the true sense of how big this community can become, I am not sure. I am not worried, though. I think we are in a level of maturation that still requires some time for exploration, prior to mass adoption. Plus, many revolutions of dPOS communities are in fact possible because of the ability to somehow "restart" things... which might not be ideal from some businesses perspectives, but it's a necessary process for blockchain technology to evolve in my view. And even more if governance is at stake along side open source software.

Restarting does not imply going back on the evolutionary line. It can be just a fork (change in path), in blockchain terms.

I don’t yet know decentralised communities that became massively adopted from 5 year old technologies anyway, but if we are the first ones, it’s going be awesome 😎. Crazy enough by definition, experimentation requires failure and assumption in order to find which paths to avoid in order to reach success.

So, if you are frustrated about something, think 💭 about other ways of avoiding your last roadblocks. Think openly... even if sometimes all you see is going backwards.

Just alone, by being able to witness all of this happening live, its already enough motivation to keep me donating part of my time for this community. It might not be much and it might not do much to the value of things alone... but when combined with all the other thousands of you out there! Damn....
