LPE = Local Privilege Escalation (when a normal user can obtain root level shell or execute commands/code as such)

CVE's is Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures, and its the name of a public report about a specific vulnerability, its mitigations, etc, more or less like a mini paper... about be patched/fixed problem and how to verify it.
