Last night was chaos because my Chinese neighbor from the building opposite got completely locked out and was standing right down in the middle of the street, absolutely yelling at the top of his lungs for help.
While all the other neighbors just opened their windows to get angry and shout at him to shut up, nobody stepped in to help.
Including me.
I stood there staring from my window, completely paralysed by the language barrier and having zero clue how to actually fix his situation or who to call.
Certainly made me feel like a fraud just watching it unfold.
It is the wildest, most frustrating feeling to watch a human being actively losing their mind in crisis right outside your window while everyone else just gets pissed off.
All the while, you're left sitting there completely useless.
One of those nights.
