Going to the post office to drop off parcels is an absolute masterclass in operational inefficiency and soul-crushing friction.
I pack my items, think I’m being proactive, and then step into a physical purgatory where time literally stands still.
I am immediately greeted by a wrapping line of exhausted humans, all staring blankly ahead while exactly one underpaid employee manages a prehistoric point-of-sale system that seems to run on dial-up internet.
Then comes my inevitable anxiety... Did I tape this correctly? Is the weight exactly what I put online? Will they reject my QR code?
By the time I finally hand over the box and get that crumpled paper receipt, I haven’t just shipped a package, but rather I’ve traded 45 minutes of my finite life expectancy just to bypass a digital bottleneck that a basic smart locker could have solved in three seconds.
Hope you're having a wonderful Thursday.
Dane.
