Kuchen war auch mehr der Überbegriff. Ich hatte warmen Apfelstrudel mit Vanillesoße und vorne weg einen heißen Grog. ;-)

I hope there will never be a rescue situation like you descriped. But hiking in the snow is really fun as long as you have the right clothes and equipment with you.

I'm not sure if ticks can survive the snow or not. But I think if the temperatures aren't too low, they can. Ticks are disgusting little monsters. ;) You have to use the training opportunities you have.
