Five years ago, at the car market in Kielce, doctor Jan Marian Gulak exclaimed: eureka! The merchant and the seller were testing some old Nysca, the rubber hose had broken off in the car, the water blew on the engine, which began to accelerate rapidly. Nobody, except Gulak, thought about it: the cable was repaired, the transaction was stamped. And the doctor already had a patent in his head called "Burning superheated steam". In 2003, his idea received official protection.
The "Patent Office Bulletin" reads: "The invention relates to the combustion of superheated steam in diesel engine pistons with elevated pressure while burning other liquid or gaseous combustible substances. The invention can be used in all diesel propulsion engines (and perhaps also in jet engines). It can also be used in heating furnaces for heating commercial spaces such as apartments, factory halls, warehouses and sports halls. "
- It was not the theory itself - says the inventor. - I have formulated my project after a series of experiences with two cars.
Velvety, without clattering
The cars were sixteen. First - lancia prisma 19D; the second - the Mercedes 250 diesel. In both Gulak, he installed an identical water system, while the blower additionally had a blower that pushed the steam. The tests took place on the Kielce-Radom route and back. In water, water consumption was 65%, and diesel oil 35%. In the Mercedes, respectively - 75 and 25 percent.
The Mercedes is available, you can drive. Plastic baniaki stand in the front passenger seat. Departure. The driver unscrews the tap and releases water when the engine warms up to around 75-80 degrees Celsius.
- Already! - doctor calls. - The car gets faster and the engine runs velvet. Do not clatter! Diesel flies like a gasoline! I drove him 130 an hour, now I pull out to one hundred and fifty.
In fact, the old merc flies like a Rolls Royce - although on the meter almost half a million kilometers traveled, with about 80,000 "on the water". You need to watch out for the side effect: if after leaving the water vapor is left in the cylinder with the engine turned off, then the steam will condense and the rust will start to enter the cylinder head. That's why you have to turn off the pair for about three seconds before the end of the trip. A special electronic system can be used in the factory installation.
We dive under the mask, where everything is visible. Water is supplied between the exhaust pipe and its casing. A twisted copper conduit extends from the housing, which covers the exhaust manifold. In the collector the water heats up and turns into steam, and at 130 degrees it is fed to the suction collectors on the other side of the engine. The steam enters the cylinders with air (although it would be better without), and when the pump presses the oil on the glow plugs, it decomposes into oxygen and hydrogen and as a fulminant mixture increases the explosion power in the cylinder. Thanks to the additional components, the explosion is gentle - hence the "velvet" engine work. For every hundred kilometers, 3-4 liters of water are consumed. The best distilled or rainwater. Because when the inventor poured a tap, a stone was deposited in the tubes. But the tubes can be cleaned with a stonework. In winter, add a bit of denatured water to the water.
Frania and Nobel
Jan Marian Gulak is a doctor of law, but he started as a locksmith in Kielce SHL in the production of washing machines "frania". There he made his first rationalization. It consisted in making a special collar, thanks to which the working women reaching the boiler did not hurt their hands. Gulak bought himself a "jaw" for the money from the invention. He would have earned more, but the main technical specialist, head of department and branch secretary of the party joined his project. It turned out that a serious team was working on the invention. Those got 60,000 PLN, and Gulak twenty.
Then he invented a blockade of shears for cutting sheets, thanks to which the workers worked safer, then - a cost-saving method of sanding the "old" chaff. On this, Jan Gulak ended the period of youthful invention and went to high school. He was going to get to the school of eagles in Dęblin, but he lost sight of it. He told the committee that in Germany the pilots were flying with glasses. "We will not model ourselves on the German imperialists," he heard.
In this connection, Jan Marian Gulak passed to the law faculty of the Jagiellonian University. He finished his studies before the date in 1970 and the rector offered him assistant teaching.
- I had an average of five, although in the first year they were inadequate. I may not be brilliant, but if I do it, ho, ho, "she confesses.
He passed on to the doctoral studies in political science, and in the group of 12 were taken outside of him, the proteges themselves, including secretary of the party from Rzeszów and the ambassador of Cuba. In the meantime, he studied religious studies, picked up some economics, and when he did his doctorate he returned to Kielce, because they gave him a flat. And he regrets it to this day.
He took a job at the Polytechnic, but in 1976 he flew out of it. It was like this: first on June 25, he went to Radom in part to the Mercedes, he saw people running and shouting, so he asked what was going on. He was stopped by the police and asked what was going on. For this reason, nothing great happened, but later he did not like the fact that the secretary December of Katowice calls the workers a scoundrel. He spoke about it loudly at the Polytechnic and he flew off the pavement once. In 1996, he was employed at the Warsaw Higher School of Journalism M. Wańkowicza, faculties of Kielce-Radom-Lublin.
- In the meantime, I wrote a poem "The History of the Mother of Poland" - shows a magnificent volume. In fact, everything rhymes. It is also no secret that Jan Marian Gulak is planning to win a literary Nobel Prize.
Current from the Vistula
Inventiveness is also a kind of poetry, worse finding finders for its use. It's easier to bury someone than to invent it yourself, so be careful. In addition, some solutions have already been discovered, so to be original you have to offer something new. The use of water vapor to power the engines was already invented in 1920 by Americans. Then there was a Swedish, Spanish, English, French project and, finally, a doctor Gulak.
Because its method can be used in combined heat and power plants, two businessmen from Radom became interested in it.
- Because it is pure saving! - enthusiastic is the inventor, who made attempts at the plant in Zębcu. With small boilers 4-10 KW there were no effects. They appeared when the boiler gave 50-55 KW. And almost no carbon dioxide emissions. According to Gulak, our apartments can be heated by 60 percent. cheaper, and prices for electricity will fall by as much as 70 percent. Instead of burning coal mines, we connect to Wisła and we have electricity!
In addition to Radom businessmen, his "water engine" wants to be tested by the Institute of Land Forces in Warsaw. There was also a successful show at Radom MPK. A further popularization of the study is edited by Janusz Zagórski from NTV, which organizes in Wrocław the conventions of unconventional inventors. Half a hundred underestimated geniuses arrive there. Some ideas are in fact ordinary madness, others are great, like the ionospheric current catcher used to illuminate the building by a young student. Or a miniature 14 HP engine.
- There are many people in Poland who have better ideas than well-known scientists with titles - Jan Marian Gulak assures.
He certainly gained fame himself. When he went to the mechanic to make some alteration in his Mercedes, the guy said: I'll do it quickly and well. Because I know that you do not run the moonshine, but have a car for water.
Here you can see how his car goes on the water:
