From the widened single frame, to the side air intakes with sporty chrome trims, to the narrow headlights – the progressive nature A6 Saloon's front gives a great impression at first sight. The sharpened shoulder line with strong curves above the wheel arches accentuates the quattro inheritance. The exterior mirrors have a sporty location by the armrest. Moreover, the coupé-like flowing roofline elegantly leads into the rear end, formed in three dimensions with a characteristic aluminium style.
The exterior stands out with its balanced proportions – long hood, long wheelbase and short overhangs. The A6 is 4,939 millimeters long, i.e. 7 millimeters longer than its predecessor. The width has been increased by 12 millimeters to 1,886 millimeters while the height at 1,457 millimeters is now 2 millimeters more than on the outgoing model. The wide, low-slung Singleframe grille, the flat headlights and the powerfully contoured air inlets exude sportiness.
The optional HD Matrix LED headlights with dynamic indicator light impress from two different perspectives. They provide the driver with optimum road lighting without dazzling oncoming traffic, and maximise the A6 Saloon's effective beam width thanks to the outward focus of the characteristic lighting segments.
