Open the block explorer before you open the chat. A community takeover is easy to narrate and annoying to verify, which is why the order matters. The chat will tell you a story in the voice of whoever is typing. The explorer will tell you whether a specific transaction exists.
This is a plain-language guide to checking a community takeover, with $FOMOEGG as the coin on the table. $FOMOEGG is a memecoin on Robinhood Chain, chainId 4663, contract 0xee9a89fadf3894fed75bf312f9252f770e287f5a. It launched on the PONS V2 launchpad on Sep 19, 2026. It trades in the fomo app: https://fomo.family/coin?address=0xee9a89fadf3894fed75bf312f9252f770e287f5a&chainId=4663&r=turbomac&source=share_link
When the original developer stepped away, holders asked PONS to let the community take the coin over. PONS approved that on Sep 25, 2026. Approval is context. It is not the three questions below.
Three questions, in order
Did anyone propose the change in public? For this coin, yes, on Oct 11, 2026. The proposal transaction is https://robinhoodchain.blockscout.com/tx/0xda9fe073ca11abca2327c287474697e07d39c2758a1177d8a9295437073955e2
Read it as a proposal. It is the chain's copy of "here is the change we intend," sitting there before the change is carried out. A project that skips this step and only announces an outcome has given you less to inspect.
Did a later transaction carry the change out? For this coin, yes, on Oct 14, 2026, at block 88,746,962. The execution is https://robinhoodchain.blockscout.com/tx/0x3197cc979fe0a1e40e5bf7f98efd9fc7151aff681c2ef36f053d398a2f66e6a3
That transaction moved the creator-fee wallet to the community wallet. The creator-fee wallet is the wallet that receives the coin's creator fee. Moving it is the concrete act. Until it moves, a takeover announcement is a plan.
Do the outside pages match the execution, or do they float free of it? The PONS CTO portal lists FOMOEGG as Completed. On Oct 17, 2026 DexScreener approved the community takeover profile: https://dexscreener.com/robinhood/0x95338de905beb044cfdc0da12efa814f2085cbb3135ad30784d7bc51e108fca6
Match is the standard. If the portal says one thing and the Oct 14 transaction says another, keep the transaction and go ask about the portal. The profile approval on Oct 17 is a recognition of the takeover. It is not the takeover. The takeover already had a block number three days earlier.
Then look at the three public counters
Once the wallet question is settled, three counters are worth opening because each one is a page, not a caption.
The burn counter is a balance at the dead address. 162M+ tokens, about 16% of supply: https://robinhoodchain.blockscout.com/address/0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD
The holder counter is the token page. 1,300+ holders: https://robinhoodchain.blockscout.com/token/0xee9a89fadf3894fed75bf312f9252f770e287f5a
The race counter is a free egg race with no purchase necessary. It has paid 226+ races to winners on chain, and the replays are on https://fomoegg.com/race. Open a replay and see whether it lines up with a payout you can find. That is the check. A round number in a caption is not.
Why the order protects you
People post the chat because it is fast. The explorer is slower and ruder. It will not adopt the adjectives. If you start in the chat, you will remember the adjectives and then go hunting for a hash that confirms them. If you start in the explorer, you already know which hash is real, and the chat becomes a commentary on a document you have seen.
The same three questions work on a coin that is not $FOMOEGG. Proposal hash. Execution hash, with a block number. Outside pages that either agree with that execution or do not. Anything a project cannot link is still unchecked, including burns, holders, and payouts.
The FOMOEgg CTO team keeps the set for this coin on one page: https://fomoegg.com/cto. The long version is https://fomoegg.com/news/takeover-with-receipts. If a link on either page fails, the chat is https://t.me/fomoeggcto. There is also video at https://www.youtube.com/@FomoEgg, and Instagram and TikTok at @fomo.egg.
Open the explorer. Ask the three questions. Then decide what the chat is worth.
