Today (June 20th, 2017) Numer.ai released their cryptocurrency Numeraire (NMR) on the ethereum blockchain.
What is Numerai?
Numer.ai is a hedge fund that uses crowdsourced AI and machine-learning to trade stocks. Users download stock data for free, upload predictions, and get paid in BTC and NMR if their predictions perform well.
We are incentivizing the construction of an artificial intelligence hedge fund with Numeraire, a cryptographic token on the Ethereum blockchain.

What is Numeraire (NMR)?

How is it earned/minted?
Each week NMR is awarded to users that do well in the market. There's a supply cap of 21 million. An initial distribution was awarded to the top players.
How is NMR used?
Users can stake NMR on their predictions if they're confident, and earn more NMR if they perform well.
Where can I buy NMR?
As of this post NMR isn't available on any exchanges yet. Trading is happening on slack.numer.ai. As it is an ERC20 token, it should appear on exchanges soon.
