If you left Steemit not too long ago and you juct came back, you will notice that so much has changed. From the curation rewards sharing formular to more talk about SMT's, lots of progress has been made. One striking feature of the NewSteem is the concept of communities. Before now, communities run accounts just like individual accounts on Steemit. But since the introduction of communities - which is still in testing stages - people of like mind can now gather together and discuss something of interest in a more organized community environment.

I have been quite a regular user of Steemit since I signed up 2 years ago. Since recently, I have heard talks about communities, but have not really shown interest in how the new communities work until @crypto.piotr directed me to the @project.hope community. Even at that, he gave me a link which I followed since I support @project.hope. Yet, if I want to make a post, I still use the pencil Icon which is still visible when I open this link - https://beta.steemit.com/trending/hive-175254 - which he sent to me. I have been so at home with clicking the pencil icon to make a post. But whenever I finish publishing, I found that in the tags I use, I cannot see anything to show that I have posted in the community. I never bothered until my last post when I decided to check the page well. I noticed I have been making a mistake and I decided to use the "New Post" button found inside the page. Boom!!! I was able to make a post inside the @project.hope community.

I decided to create awareness of this since i felt that the community feature has not been given enough publicity. So in this post, for old users that are ignorant and for new users, I want to demonstrate how you can make a post in the community you support. Before then, let me say that a community is a collection of friends with shared interests and passion. So you can find and support as many communities as you wish on this steemit platform. So here is how to make a post in a community.

How to make a post in a community - @project.hope

1. Log on to https://beta.steemit.com/communities
2. You will see a list of all the communities on the page. Some are also listed on the left-hand side of the page. Click on any community - for example Project Hope - to open it.
3. On the right-hand side of the page, click on "NEW POST"
4. Write your posts as normal - the title, body, tags, etc and publish.

Congratulations. You have posted inside the community.

Other things about a community.

There are many other things that make the community feature really nice. Apart from the fact that it brings like minds together, you can also join a community by clicking the subscribe button when you open this link - https://beta.steemit.com/communities. In that way you have joined the community. When you click your profile image under a community, you will also see notifications of activity in the community. This will keep you up to date with community events. You can also create and manage your own community if you wish.
