This was about 3 years ago when I was still mastering coconut tree climbing and processing!
At this time, I had only been in the crown on top of a coconut tree twice back in the Yucatan, Mexico!
(Now I've climbed up there, hundreds if not thousands of times! What's even weirder is that most of those times were with a broken ankle, hahaha!)
However, this harvest of 36 coconuts even surprised me! As it's the most coconuts I've ever knocked down under the crown, without getting on top of the coconuts/tree!
Getting into the crown is a super useful technique (though scary especially in the beginning!) as it allows you to harvest ALL the coconuts much more effortlessly!
I honestly didn't even think it was safe nor a good idea to get up there. Until after finally trying it out, and realizing those palm fronds are a lot stronger than they seem!
Although... in Florida they seem to be weaker than everywhere else I've climbed in the world... just saying.
There was (or maybe even still is) a "harassment" (police) officer that lived in front of where I parked my car... So I had to harvest all the cocos and load up the car relatively fast if I wanted to avoid any inconveniences. Regardless of the fact that I was doing volunteer community service work, as they clearly find it extra work to take care of the coconuts themselves...
Happy and grateful to have over come the fear of opening coconuts using a blade at the Oasis community in the Mexican jungle! We could now use our dad's machete instead of our hands, or a hammer and screw driver, haha.
This allowed me to exponentially harvest and consume more coconuts around the world! 💗💗😄💗💗
Another wonderful thing to do with coconuts is to take the busted ones that didn't fully survive the impact from the fall, and pour them all over your head and body while drinking a bunch too! Super healthy and revitalizing!
Yay! I finally made short post!
Gonna try to keep all the travel/adventure stories more brief from now on so it's not too hard to follow everything that's going on! Hehe.
My brother actually went off on a separate solo adventure around Brazil, then met up with our family and a friend in Colombia! Naturally I had to go somewhere too! So I went to a North Carolina community in North Carolina to meet up with one of our neighbors in Florida! I tried meeting up with the whole family in Colombia but arrived a little late for that, but still got to enjoy Colombia with my brother and friend!
