Before I go ahead to answer the question, let me give meaning to the keywords which are Security, protection, and Hive keys.

What is security?

Security: This refers to the measures taken to protect and safeguard people, property, assets, and data from unauthorized users.

What are Hive keys?

Hive keys: These are keys used to access the hive for social networking and transactions. It comprises many keys such as Active keys, Posting, Owner, Master, and Memo keys respectively. They are passwords generated to protect and safeguard our account on hive Blockchain.

What is protection?

Protection: This is defined as an action or measures taken to safeguard someone or something from harm, danger, damage, or loss. It can be achieved in the form of safety measures, prevention, or defense.

Highlight the steps involved in changing the trustee accounts (recovery accounts) to your hive account.

The steps involved are:

1. Go to profile
2. Click on the three dots after the setting
3. Click on keys and permission
4. Choose a recovery account
5. Stroll down to the last part
6. Click on Change recovery account

If you invited someone to the Hive blockchain and had to give them a proper explanation of the function of each key, write out what your explanation will look like for each key.

Hive keys and its functions

There are five hive keys, which are:

• Owner key
• Posting key
• Active Key
• Master key
• Memo key

Functions of hive keys

• Owner key: This is a key required to change other keys. This key has additional permission to recover your account or change other key. It is the most important key to reset your account. It is used to generate other keys. It should be given maximum protection against any unauthorized user.

• Posting key: This is the key used for social activities or engagement such as posting, commenting, voting, upvoting, or downvoting a post. This key cannot be used for financial transactions and it is the most common key. It is used to edit a post, follow people, reblog a post, and so on.

• Active key: This is the most important key for any financial-related matter. It has additional permissions for more sensitive monetary-related actions like transferring, withdrawing, powering up and down, exchanging tokens, HBD conversion, voting for witnesses, creating a new user, and so on.

• Master key: This is a key used to recover all our keys and also recover our account. Master key worlikeaan na owner's key, it can do everything like an owner key, for example, generating new keys and recovering one's account.

• Memo key: This is the key to encrypt and decrypt private messages that were sent through the Blockchain. It is one of the least used keys on Hive.

What are the best ways to keep hive keys safe?

As we have been taught the usefulness and the functions of each of the keys, keeping it safe should be our maximum priority.
Here are some ways we can keep the keys safe:

1. Write it down somewhere safe like a diary. You can remove a letter from the password for its safety
2. Save it in PDF format with a lock code that only you can decode.
3. Save it in the cloud storage for backups and for easy accessibility. you should give it maximum security.
4. Save it in your e-mail box as a draft for easy access.

To change my account trustee to someone I know, trust, and can easily get in contact with whenever I need to recover my account.

• I will go to my profile, and click on the three dots beside settings.

• Go to keys and permission, choose recovery account

Choose recovery.

*Stroll down to the last part, and click on change recovery account.

• Then, you have it changed to your preferred person and it will take 30 days before the change can be made.

Peradventure, your account Active Key got exposed to the general public. What are the measures you'll take to safeguard your assets and account going forward?

There are steps you need to follow to avoid your account being exposed. Here are the steps to follow:

Step1: Visit https://reazuliqbal.com/HiveAccountRecovery/website. This will guide you towards whatever you want to do.

Step 2: To change your account trustee, click on the red box, and follow the pop-up instructions. Use the owner key to change the recovery account process and generate a new one.

Step 3: Use the blue box to recover your account in case it got hacked, click on the box and follow the instructions as it is in the image below.

Step 4: Click on the green box as seen in the image in step one in case you are a trustee who wants to help your friend recover his/her account. Click and follow the instructions in the image.
