On one of my photography trips in Lower Austria I was able to take some pictures of the pheasant that was there in the grass looking for food. The Male Pheasant has such a wonderfull color and it is always a pleasure taking pictures of it, while the female pheasant has way better camouflage colors. In early spring when the grass is still not so high it is easier to find these birds. When it is autumn and the grass is brown then it is very difficult to find these birds and even more difficult to find the female ones because of their camouflage colors, but in spring with the green and not high grown grass it is a lot easier to find the pheasants there. Pheasants are one of the most hunted birds here in Austria.
