Herons in the trees

I might already showed you pictures from this trip to Vienna in 2019, but I finally found out how to see the Focus Point in RAW Processing since I used the Nikon NX Studio Software instead of RAW-Therapee and Darktable this time and there is an option where I can see the Focus Point that has been used when taking the picture. This way it is a lot easier to see if the Focus is on the Eye or on any other body part of the bird. We'll see how often I use it. One thing that is good is that this could speed up my process of keeping or deleting a picture.

Now back to the grey herons, since these birds here live in a Park in the middle of Vienna on an Island surrounded by a small Lake they can breed in the trees and don't really mind that there are a lot of humans around in the Park. Usually when they build nests or when the baby grey herons hatch there are a lot of photographers around to take some pictures of them.

I prefer this place in taking pictures of these birds because they are not really shy there, everywhere else where I want to take pictures of them they always flee or it is impossible to get closer to them. Since in Upper Austria these birds were hunted not so long ago, they usually flee from humans whenever they see one. Getting this close is probably not possible here in Upper Austria. In Vienna, no problem.

One thing I also like very much when visiting Vienna is meeting with friends there for a chat and also for a visit in a "Heuringen" restaurant. I really love the food there. Also the athmosphere is a little different than in other parts of Austria.
