Autumn at the River

I really like longtime exposure shots with water. It always looks somehow special. That's why I had my wide angle lens and filters with me last weekend for some shots of the Thaya River. The Thaya is a very small River between Austria and the Czech Republic. During the Time of the Iron Curtain it was heavily guarded and some of the guardhouses are still there since it is probably very easy to cross the border on the river just by walking through it. Because of the Iron Curtain it is still a very untouched place in Austria / Czech Republic and nature was able to thrive there. It is one of the few spots where wildcats still live in Europe. We were looking for them but it is very difficult to see some since they are mostly only active during the night and during dust and dawn.

I am happy that the wonderful colorful time of the year has just started and that I can take some really nice pictures of colorful trees, forests and landscapes now again. Also some longtime exposure shots of water are always on top of my list. Maybe today afternoon I will visit a lake near Linz for some autumn photography shots. This is a good idea fro my afternoon activity. Tomorrow I will visit Budweis in the Czech Republic with a friend for good food and some sightseeing and maybe party.
