We’d had enough of seeing that corner of the living room in such a mess. We needed a piece of furniture to store those boxes of games, because if we wanted to play a game from the bottom of the pile, we had to take everything out and then put it all back again.
I said ‘ENOUGH’ and suggested to Ithara that we order a piece of furniture from the German brand Vasagle/Songmics Home.
On en avait marre de voir ce coin du salon en fouillis. Il nous fallait un meuble pour ranger ces boîtes de jeux, parce que si on souhaitait jouer à un jeu du bas de la pile, on devait tout retirer pour tout remettre ensuite.
J'ai dit STOP et j'ai proposé à Ithara de commander un meuble de la marque allemande Vasagle/Songmics Home.

We took the opportunity to have a clear-out of the bottom shelves, where there were some old travel guides and out-of-date road maps.
On en a profité pour faire du tri dans les étagères du dessous, où se trouvaient de vieux livres de tourisme et des cartes routières dépassées.
It was still hot in mid-August, but we were starting to breathe a little easier and were able to open the shutters during the day.

The piece of furniture was well protected in its transport packaging. They’d thought to use scraps of thin, flexible boards to place between the cardboard packaging and the new panels of the furniture, in case a knock damaged the packaging during transport and/or delivery. And that was a good idea, as a corner of the cardboard packaging had been torn off.
However, the delivery driver left it outside the front door without ringing the bell or knocking. Luckily, I heard a noise outside the front door and went to check.
When I’m expecting a delivery, I stay on the ground floor and I’m a bit like a meerkat : at the slightest sound, I look up 🤣.
Le meuble était aussi bien protégé dans son emballage de transport. Ils avaient pensé à utiliser des chutes de fines planches souples pour mettre entre le carton d'emballage et les planches neuves du meuble, au cas où un coup abîmerait l'emballage pendant le transport et/ou la livraison. Et c'était bien vu, car un bout du carton d'emballage avait été arraché.
Par contre, le livreur l'a déposé devant la porte, sans sonner ni toquer. Heureusement que j'ai entendu du bruit devant la porte d'entrée et que j'ai été vérifier.
Quand j'attends une livraison, je reste au rez-de-chaussée et je suis un peu comme un suricate, au moindre bruit, je lève la tête 🤣.
Well done, Ithara, for putting the cabinet together all by yourself (or nearly so) .. I just helped tip it over.
Bravo Ithara qui a monté le meuble tout seul (ou presque), j'ai juste aidé à faire basculer le meuble.
Then it was my turn to get stuck in: I cleaned the whole unit before putting all the games in it, along with a few practical books, some reasonably up-to-date road maps and a few of our tarot and oracle decks.
Not everything that was in front of or around it found a place inside and wasn’t cleared away, but we’ll carry on tidying up, because it’s necessary and it feels good once it’s done.
Bit by bit, we sort, clean, tidy, give things away or clear them out.
We need space; we need a clear view to move forward with our projects more calmly.
Ensuite, c'était à mon tour de bosser : j'ai nettoyé tout le meuble avant d'y ranger tous les jeux, mais aussi quelques livres pratiques, des cartes routières pas trop anciennes et quelques-uns de nos tarots et oracles.
Tout ce qui était devant et autour n'y a pas trouvé sa place et n'a pas été évacué, mais nous allons poursuivre le rangement, parce que c'est nécessaire et que ça fait du bien, une fois que c'est fait.
Petit à petit, on trie, on nettoie, on range, on donne ou on évacue.
On a besoin de place, on a besoin de voir clair pour avancer dans nos projets plus sereinement.
As for films and TV series, we’re currently watching a series that spans several seasons, each of which has around twenty episodes… so please bear with me a little longer for my posts on this subject, even though we might take the odd break here and there.
