Hello my dear mommies and daddies of this wonderful community, I greet you and hope you are well.

In the last few days, in my country, the classes in the schools finished. In these events, many proud parents go to what is called "cierre de proyecto" where the children show some of the skills they have learned during their study cycle.

At the project closure, the children dress up, make some models, set the scene for the final activity; some plant trees, others fix something, some of the upper years talk about a global problem or make some products that make life at home easier, there is something for everyone!

In the case of my nephews and nieces, I have loved the way they have adapted to the times and innovations and how they have enjoyed this stage that they themselves are building and involving us.

I remember that when I was studying it was something more passive: exams, workshops, some homework and I rarely remember studying an exhibition. I believe that this type of study, which in its time conditioned us, has led us to be shy beings, with stage fright and difficulty of corporal expression, with some even presenting Glossophobia (phobia of speaking in public) because they did not have the opportunity as children to attack these limitations.

That's why I see how easily a child even asks to speak, is not afraid to express his opinion and is more communicative, which was impossible in my time. Therefore, I love to listen to my nephews, who since they were little have had a particular taste for one-hour conversations without a break, which is not for everyone a pleasant experience 🤣.

When they did their project closures, it was an activity that I have always enjoyed because they have involved me and it is a way for me to tell them "Look, I am here for you, to see your triumphs and development".

It amazed me, how from the time they were children they were asked what they wanted to be and it was no longer the typical fireman or teacher, but dreams like pilots, cooks, dancers, doctors and professions that I said "Wow! These kids know what they want (thank goodness none of them told me they wanted to be an influencer).

Thanks to their performance on stage, social networks, access to technology, I think that if we evaluate it positively, we can say that it helps them to lose stage fright to such an extent that they have no fear or distrust when speaking in front of an audience, their peers and if they are being recorded, they show off more.

I think this stage is very important, although I hear parents say "that teacher asks for it", "they want them to do that difficult thing" and they don't realise that they themselves are limiting their child's growth in the cognitive and recreational area. I have even seen mothers (I'm sorry to say because I know them), who don't take their children that day because "it's a lot of unnecessary expense" or "only the teacher is going to eat" when it is an important part of the child's development.

Although my publication is about the successes and achievements of my nephews and nieces, I cannot remain silent in the face of this incongruence of parents who, on the one hand want to have a child but do not understand that this entails responsibilities, duties, accompaniment and above all an inviolable right to education, so everything they send them to school implies that it is part of an evaluative plan that must be fulfilled.

Thank goodness that we as a family have always supported every activity we can for the children in my home, both materially and in person, because these are the memories that they will always have of a united family that is always willing to collaborate with everything necessary for their development until they reach adulthood.

I remember that my Gabo, when he was about five years old, had to talk about a city square in his pre-school. A few short lines that he had previously learnt and practised without any mistakes, totally understandable so nothing could go wrong.

When the time came, everyone was waiting for his performance, well he came out and gave his speech which was not understood, he did not want to let go of the microphone, he dedicated himself from the stage to greeting the whole audience and interrupting his colleagues who were doing well, he walked like a robot because I think he did not like the shoes, he even threw kisses and greeted us with great applause because they had applauded him.

In the end, everyone present laughed and thanks to technology, that video was immortalised to remember how happy we were that day and to remember that this is the essence of a child: fun, mischief and companionship. We'll have time to worry about their tempers, youthful problems and refusal to smile when we want a photo with them.

My nieces, nephews and godchildren enjoyed their project closings and in the pictures that are part of my digital album, I show them that we are very happy to support their dreams and future.
