Hello my dear friends, today I come to tell you about a Colombian production of the Netflix platform based on real life, which is about the life of a Colombian singer and the story of how she achieved her fame:

Hola mis queridos amigos, hoy vengo a contarles sobre una producci贸n colombiana de la plataforma Netflix basada en la vida real, que trata sobre la vida de una cantante colombiana y la historia de c贸mo alcanzo su fama: Canto para no llorar- La historia de Arelys Henao (2022)
The story
Arelys is a singer, who like many in Colombia lives through war, guerrilla warfare, drug trafficking and displacement due to these conflicts, which separate families and cause great damage to people's emotions. The artist grew up surrounded by these adversities, in a town marked by these disturbances and according to the series, she forces them to move to another city where she makes her life with her family.
La historia Arelys es una cantante, que como muchos en Colombia viven la guerra, guerrilla, narcotr谩fico y desplazamiento por estos conflictos, que separan familias y ocasionan grandes da帽os en las emociones de las personas. La artista creci贸 rodeada de estas adversidades, en un pueblo marcado por estos disturbios y seg煤n la serie, los obliga a irse a otra ciudad donde hace su vida junto a su familia.
Another point that always surrounds Arelys is envy. She will always be envied for her talent, and this feeling leads her to win her competitions, but always with the uncertainty, always with the stalking of people who do not want her to win or to show her talent. She is also cheated, swindled, but the best thing is that her good heart was never touched or damaged with dark feelings.
Otro punto que rodea siempre a Arelys es la envidia. Ella por su talento siempre va a ser envidiada, y este sentimiento, la lleva a ganar sus concursos, pero siempre con la incertidumbre, con la acechanza siempre de las personas que no quieren que gane o demuestre su talento. Tambi茅n es enga帽ada, estafada, pero lo mejor es que su buen coraz贸n nunca fue tocado ni da帽ado con sentimientos oscuros.
The 62 chapters also tell the story of the lack and economic limitations he had but he never stopped trying, fighting for his dreams, pursuing what he wanted to achieve despite the fact that support was scarce and the courage with which he faced each of these adversities.
En los 62 cap铆tulos tambi茅n se cuenta la carencia y limitaciones econ贸micas que tuvo pero que nunca dej贸 de intentarlo, luchar por sus sue帽os, perseguir lo que quer铆a lograr a pesar de que el apoyo fue escaso y la valent铆a con la que enfrent贸 cada una de estas adversidades es admirable.
I loved that point about courage as a woman, to make a place for yourself as a woman both in music and in life. We understand that our Latin American societies have a macho heritage, where the role of women is limited to housework and submission to a husband. In this case, Arelys always defended her dreams, what she wanted to do in life, imposing her power and firmness as a woman before an incomprehensible, cold, strong father, who did not understand her artistic aspirations and who later understood with the passing of the years.
Ese punto me encant贸 de la valent铆a como mujer, hacerse un lugar como mujer tanto en la m煤sica como en la vida. Entendemos que nuestras sociedades latinoamericanas son por herencia machista, donde el papel de las mujeres esta limitado a las labores del hogar y a la sumisi贸n de un marido. En este caso, Arelys siempre defendi贸 sus sue帽os, lo que quer铆a hacer en la vida, imponiendo su poder y firmeza de mujer ante un padre incomprensivo, frio, fuerte, que no entend铆a sus aspiraciones artisticas y que despu茅s comprendi贸 con el paso de los a帽os.
Another facet that the story shows (which I liked) was her beautiful love and all the stages, trials, that they go through throughout their union and that her partner supported her being a fundamental part of her artistic growth.
Otra faceta que muestra la historia (que me gusto) fue su amor bonito y por todas las etapas, pruebas, que pasan a lo largo de toda su uni贸n y que su pareja la apoy贸 siendo parte fundamental de su crecimiento art铆stico.
My appreciation
I liked the series because it deals with several interesting topics.
The first one is the guerrilla. I am used to seeing series about drug traffickers where they exalt them and even "humanise" them. In this case, they show the other side, that of the victims, the displacement, the cruel and cruel treatment that people receive, the cruelty, the extortion that takes place, in short, realities that have afflicted this country for years and that despite the efforts of the authorities, it seems that it is convenient for everyone because they do not eradicate them once and for all.
Mi apreciaci贸n La serie me gust贸 porque trata varios t贸picos interesantes. El primero de ellos, es la guerrilla. Estoy acostumbrada a ver las series de narcos donde los exaltan y hasta los "humanizan". En este caso, muestran el otro lado, el de las v铆ctimas, el desplazamiento, el trato cruel y ruin que reciben las personas, el ensa帽amiento, las extorsiones que suceden, en fin, realidades que aquejan a ese pa铆s desde hace a帽os y que a pesar de los esfuerzos de las autoridades, pareciera que a todos les conviene esa situaci贸n porque no las erradican de una vez.
It seems to me unusual to think that these people who break the law, who harm other people, who end their lives physically and mentally and when they are caught, they have to be "judged with benevolence" and the defenders of human rights come out to defend their life chances.
A m铆 me parece ins贸lito pensar que estas personas que infringen la ley, que da帽an a otras personas, que acaban con su vida fisica y mentalmente y cuando son agarrados, tienen que ser "juzgados con benevolencia" y salen los defensores de los derechos humanos a defender sus oportunidades de vida 隆Fin de mundo!
This is a case study, which many citizens in Colombia suffer on a daily basis and still do not take effective and definitive action to eradicate violence from that country once and for all.
Este es un caso de estudio, que muchos ciudadanos sufren en Colombia diariamente y siguen sin tomar acciones eficaces y definitivas para poder erradicar definitivamente la violencia de ese pa铆s.
Speaking of violence, another interesting topic is gender violence. I can understand that in the decade in which the novel is set, it is understandable that we still did not have much progress in terms of a life free of violence or at least criminal offences against women.
Hablando de violencia, otro tema interesante es la violencia de g茅nero. Puedo entender que en la d茅cada que se desarrolla la novela es entendible que aun no ten铆amos muchos avances en materia de una vida libre de violencia o al menos delitos tipificados contra la mujer. Lo grave es que esto sigue sucediendo actualmente.
One of the particularities of gender-based violence is that it happens inside the home, that is, in the house, and believe me, I wanted to get through the screen and throw the first thing that came my way to tell her "defend yourself, woman". The first violence starts when we see violent parents who limit our rights, and show us that "violence is a right of parents just because they are parents"!
Una de las particularidades de la violencia de g茅nero es que ocurre intramuro, es decir, en la casa y cre谩nme que yo quer铆a meterme por la pantalla y lanzarle lo primero que se me atravesara para decirle "defiendete mujer". La primera violencia inicia cuando vemos a padres violentos que nos limitan nuestros derechos, y nos muestran que "la violencia es un derecho de los padres solo por ser padres" 隆Cu谩nta locura vivimos!
It made me sad to see these situations due to lack of knowledge, lack of culture, education, awareness and love for women. It shows how we women have had to struggle from our homes with different types of violence and that we still have a long way to go before we can talk about true equality and the defence of rights.
Me dio tristeza ver esas situaciones por desconocimiento, falta de cultura, educaci贸n, sensibilizaci贸n y amor por la mujer. Muestra la manera como las mujeres hemos tenido que luchar desde nuestros hogares con los tipos de violencia y que actualmente nos falta mucho por alcanzar para hablar de la verdadera igualdad y defensa de derechos.
But since not everything is suffering, I loved the romance that arose in her life with Wilfredo and that keeps him alive today. Together they faced the trials of romance and the opposition of various people, but they always kept their love intact and their desire to stay together. I like these stories because they always help us to believe in love and to overcome these trials if it is true love.
Pero como no todo es sufrimiento, am茅 el romance que surgi贸 en su vida con Wilfredo y que lo mantiene actualemente. Juntos enfrentaron pruebas propias del romance y de las oposiciones de varias personas, pero siempre mantuvieron el amor intacto y las ganas de seguir juntos. Estas historias me gustan porque siempre nos ayudan a creer en el amor y a superar estas pruebas si en verdad es amor verdadero.
Final appreciations
I'm not much of a musical person, but the story is fresh, entertaining, with some strong scenes that make your skin crawl and others that make you shed a few tears. There are also moments of laughter and lots and lots of singing, with the artist's own songs.
Apreciaciones finales No soy mucho de musicales, pero la historia es fresca, entretenida, con algunas escenas fuertes que erizan la piel y otras que hacen soltar algunas l谩grimas. Tambi茅n hay momentos de risas y mucho pero mucho canto, con canciones propias de la artista.
The actors were excellent, starting with Mariana (Arelys) who sings beautifully and was very sweet throughout her performance. Ram贸n (Wilfredo), with his forced Colombian accent, is making a place for himself on Colombian television, reinforcing his protagonic roles and being well accepted by critics and will continue to show it through his roles, I think he is on the right track.
Los actores fueron excelentes, comenzando con actuaci贸n de Mariana (Arelys) que canta muy bonito y fue muy dulce toda su actuaci贸n. Ram贸n (Wilfredo), con su acento forzado colombiano, se est谩 haciendo un lugar en la televisora de colombia, reforzando sus papeles prot谩gonicos siendo bien aceptados por la cr铆tica y que seguir谩 mostr谩ndolo a trav茅s de sus papeles interpretados, creo que va por buen camino.
Without going into spoilers, the last chapter is touching and beautiful, I liked it a lot, so if you get the chance, enjoy the series as much as I did.
Sin entrar en spoiler, el 煤ltimo cap铆tulo es conmovedor y bonito, me gust贸 bastante, as铆 que si tienen la oportunidad, difruten la serie tanto como yo.
