Hello Hivians, how are you? I hope you had a great weekend. Although it's not Monday today I'm going to do my post about horticulture and it's time for the last step before collecting our dried onions. And our garlic too of course.

Before collecting the onions it's important that they get fat and dry well if we want them to be in good condition. So we have to do a very simple step: step on them. But don't step on them, just step on them so that the stem bends. Do it with care. This will help us to stop them from flowering and to get fatter while they dry. In addition, we will keep the dry leaves that will help us to tie them.
With garlic it's similar but a little different. First we have to remove the flower as soon as it comes out and then we won't step on it but we will tie a knot with the leaves. We bend it slightly downwards and make a simple knot. The effects will be the same as with onions. We will get some large and well dried garlic to keep all year round.

Don't forget to harvest these wonderful products after several days of hot, sunny weather. If you do so after a rain, they may rot while they are stored. And that would be very unpleasant.

Thank you very much for supporting my blog and I look forward to your comments.!
