In a vegetable garden, it is essential to know how to multiply our plants and the creation of cuttings offers great advantages over other planting methods such as direct sowing in the bed.

Creating cuttings can be very easy for some plants such as basil or tomatoes but much more difficult for others. Normally it is enough to put a piece of the desired plant directly in water so that the roots begin to emerge and then we can plant it.
But if we want to do it well we have to cut a part of the original plant of about 20 centimeters. Remove the leaves without damaging the germination points. Make a beveled cut at the base and if possible coat it with a rooting agent such as aloe vera.
If we do all this it will be really difficult for our cuttings not to thrive.

There are different advantages to using cuttings for the propagation of plants. The first is speed since it takes much less time than sowing. The second is that we would have a plant of a certain size that would not be affected by undesirable animals such as slugs. And the third is that we will get a plant identical to the mother since a cutting is a clone and has no genetic variety with its predecessor.
