Hello friends. If you are in a Mediterranean climate, you should have planted the melons in your garden a month ago, but if you are in a continental climate, now is the time to get to work.
Planting melons is a very simple thing, just bury the seed in a flat position one centimeter deep in a sunny area and give a very abundant first watering to activate germination.

It's been a little over a month since I planted them in my mini greenhouse and they are already prepared for transplanting. If you have a family garden you can also buy the seedlings since you will not need too many plants and it will be profitable.
Melon cultivation is very simple but it has its peculiarities. Before planting them you have to do a deep soil and add fertilizer since the melon is a plant that likes fertile soils. Luckily it is not a plant that requires a lot of water so if we prepare a good mulch we will save ourselves a lot of watering.
The most difficult part of melons is managing the fruits. If there are not many pollinators we will have to do it ourselves with a cotton stick. If we live in a region with little sun and we still want to have melons in our garden, then we will have to provoke flowering. This is done by cutting the main stem so that it branches much more than normal. This way we will have more chances of getting flowers.
A bush of melons usually produces between two and three large melons if it is well cared for. Don't expect 20 melons per bush, it won't happen.
Thank you very much for supporting my blog and I look forward to your comments.!
