Life has always been a great teacher, I had a clearer picture this year.

"you only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. - MAE WEST."

Greetings everyone and welcome to my blog. I know we are all enjoying the season in one way or the other. Some love the weather and some dont, majority of us in Nigeria love it because it's dry and cold but not too cold. Anywhere you are in the world it's Christmas let's all celebrate and merry.

Life taught me a lot this year 2022, in my business, family, children, the people living with me and around me and finally my health.
I choose the life lesson of my HEALTH because we only live once and we can enjoy life more in good health.
A few months ago I was very sick, our body system notifies us whenever we are about to fall sick and before it breaks us down. it expects us to see a doctor for them to give us a clear diagnosis so we know what exactly is wrong and the best we to manage it.
I wasn't able to function as fast and smart as I always do. The first thing I was supposed to do was to see a doctor but I decided to do self-medication which almost cost me my life.
I went to the pharmacy to get some malaria drugs and some antibiotic drugs, this is exactly what most of us do and it's very wrong. this was the beginning of my story.

SELF-MEDICATION ALMOST COST ME MY LIFE

Taking drugs and having no sign of getting better is the worst feeling I had. My health becomes worst with each passing day. I thank God for my husband who rushed me to the hospital. Upon getting to the hospital I was taken to the emergency unit because the drug reaction was killing me. immediately they administered some drugs in injection and oxygen to help me breathe well. God bless those doctors and Nurses that help save my life. At that point, I became grateful to God for saving my life and for giving me another chance to live a healthy life. At this point, I couldn't think of anything, I was as weak to think not until I started feeling good health, I remembered my kids, my job, my business, my phone and everything I do for a living. I became thankful to God and started speaking about good health to myself.
My recovery was fast and I responded very well to the drugs.

A few days into my recovery I celebrated my birthday, I became thankful to God for the second chance in my life.

LESSON LEARNT

  1. Self-medication is very bad
  2. We only live once
  3. Whenever our body feels different see a doctor.
  4. When given medications by the doctor take your drugs and always speak about good health to yourself.
  5. When you are in good health there is hope for a better future.
  6. Our loved ones are very important to us in sickness and in health.

Am hopeful this has taught us a great lesson to say no to self-medication

This is in response to the #Hivelearners community contest week 42 edition 1.
