I think that question what is Steem and what is the endgame was discussed multiple times and to be honest I dont think anyone has a real answer for this.
As you said to find content it is terrible here and the current system does not work out. I blame bots quite a bit for this but I know we have a different viewpoint on this topic.
I feel the changes are too much for one hardfork somehow and with the new reward system having multiple accounts just get rewarded too much imo.
In general I like the idea to increase the curation rewards as it takes of a bit of the "need" to post daily and could increase the quality of the articles...but I have my doubts it will.
Since a while I had the feeling we moving away from "just" being a blogging platform and this feels like a try hard attempt to push Steem back into this direction.
I am curious though how this will develop as I have a bit the feeling this fork is about the soul of Steem
Edit : on second thought isnt the new reward changes terrible for people starting out who maybe get like 10 votes or so??
