We have reached the third and last part of the story of my trip to Belgium. Have you ever been there? I was lucky enough to visit many beautiful places in just one weekend. Here you will find the story of the first part and instead, at this link , the story of the second part, in case you missed the "previous episodes". Today I would like to talk to you about Brussels which, despite being our point of support, has been our least wanted and visited destination.
In fact, we spent very few hours traveling around the capital and, I must say, with good reason. It didn't make a good impression on me, probably because it is definitely a metropolitan city, but I must say that I was expecting much more of everything from the European capital, starting with urban beauty.
We only got to visit Brussels at night: this certainly made it, in our eyes, a city different from its true being. Despite this, its thousand Gothic churches certainly make it a "pointed" city. 馃槃
In the center, wide streets and "traditional" monuments alternate with smaller alleys with small boutiques, brasseries and contemporary art galleries, a mirror of a time that flies back and forth.
Perfect gardens, graffiti and murals so well done that they seem to be one with the buildings on which they are painted. The gold of the oldest buildings clearly demonstrates the true spirit of the city: in the main square in the center you will find tall towers that are not bell towers and pointed and gilded Gothic buildings that are not churches, but banks, large offices of companies and multinationals where to produce money , accumulate wealth and do business. This is the spirit of Brussels.
A city a bit "dead": there are not many places to party, few areas for nightlife. I would almost say that there are no discos and clubs for young people. All very dull, so much so that those who live in Brussels, on the weekend, in order to do something, are literally forced to leave the city.
As I said, there are no discos and so what do you do if you want to dance and be in company? This is something I've never seen anywhere else, I swear! People get organized, bring stereos and speakers and dance in the street, in the square, at least as long as time allows! Anyone who passes by will be able to join. My friends started dancing as soon as we saw that group of people creating a real outdoor disco, something really special, don't you think?
I still haven't told you about the statues ... "non-traditional", right? Well they are not everywhere in Brussels but there are some and they are really bizarre, so much che if you're lucky they are the ones who paint you tourists, or whoever is self-ironic enough to want to pretend to do it!
If you are even for a few hours in Brussels there is a place that you absolutely do not want to miss and it is the gallery, properly called " Les Galeries Royales
SAINT-HUBERT ", a unique place where dozens of chocolatiers shine with their windows that make them look like real jewelers, rather than shops where you buy chocolate. At the center of the gallery you find yourself admiring a one of a kind work of art: a structure that represents an inscription with double meaning, depending on the point of view that is acquired. ", as if to mean that love and hate are two sides of the same coin. Truly brilliant.
How could the smurfs be missing? Maybe Belgians are as proud of their Smurfs as they are of their beer and chocolate! But did you know that in reality the Smurfs are just a dream of Gargamel?
My story ends here. It was nice to get back to take a plane to go abroad and visit new places, to have a new tourist adventure, after such a long time! It was even better to share this experience with the right people. Traveling with those who do not get along, with those who have nothing or too little in common, trust me, is definitely very tiring and not at all pleasant. On the other hand, the perfect trip is the one made with the right friendships, so much so that the destination, duration or journey is irrelevant.

Siamo giunti alla terza ed ultima parte del racconto del mio viaggio in Belgio. Voi ci siete mai stati? Io ho avuto la fortuna di visitare, in un solo weekend, tanti bellissimi posti. Qui trovate il racconto della prima parte e invece, a questo link, il racconto della seconda parte, in caso vi fossero sfuggiti gli "episodi precedenti". Oggi vorrei parlarvi invece di Bruxelles che, nonostante sia stato il nostro punto di appoggio, 猫 stata la nostra meta meno voluta e visitata.
Infatti, abbiamo speso veramente pochissime ore in giro per la capitale e, devo dire, a ragion veduta. Non mi ha fatto una bella impressione, sar脿 perch茅 猫 decisamente una citt脿 metropolitana, ma devo dire che dalla capitale europea mi aspettavo decisamente molto di pi霉 di tutto, a partire dalle bellezza urbana.
Abbiamo avuto modo di visitare Bruxelles solo di notte: sicuramente questo l'ha resa, ai nostri occhi, una citt脿 diversa dal suo vero essere. Nonostante ci貌, sicuramente le sue mille chiese gotiche ne fanno una citt脿 "appuntita". 馃槃
Per il centro, si alternano larghi stradoni e monumenti "tradizionali" a viuzze minori con piccole boutique, brasserie e gallerie d'arte contemporanea, specchio di un tempo che vola avanti e indietro.
Giardini perfetti, graffiti e murales talmente ben fatti che sembrano un tuttuno con gli edifici su cui sono dipinti. L'oro degli edifici pi霉 antichi dimostra bene lo spirito vero della citt脿: nella piazza principale del centro troverete alti torri che non sono campanili ed edifici gotici appuntiti e dorati che non sono chiese, bens矛 banche, grandi uffici di aziende e multinazionali dove produrre denaro, accumulare ricchezze e fare affari. Questo 猫 lo spirito di Bruxelles.
Una citt脿 un po' "morta": non ci sono molti posti dove fare baldoria, pochi i quartieri per la vita notturna. Direi quasi che non ci sono discoteche e locali per giovani. Tutto molto spento, tanto che chi vive a Bruxelles, nel weekend, pur di fare qualcosa, 猫 letteralmente costretto ad uscire dalla citt脿.
Come dicevo, non ci sono discoteche e quindi cosa si fa se si ha voglia di ballare e stare in compagnia? Questa 猫 una cosa che non ho mai visto da nessuna altra parte, lo giuro! Le persone si organizzano, portano stereo e casse e ballano per strada, in piazza, almeno finch茅 il tempo lo concede! Chiunque passi di l矛 potr脿 unirsi. I miei amici hanno iniziato a ballare appena abbiamo visto quel gruppo di persone che creavano una vera e propria discoteca all'aperto, un qualcosa di veramente speciale, non trovate?
Ancora non vi avevo parlato delle statue... "non tradizionali", vero? Beh non sono ovunque a Bruxelles ma ce ne sono un po' e sono veramente bizzarre, tanto che se siete fortunati sono loro stesse a dipingere voi turisti, o chi 猫 abbastanza auto-ironico da volere finghere di farlo!
Se siete anche per poche ore a Bruxelles c'猫 un posto che non volete assolutamente lasciarvi sfuggire ed 猫 la galleria, propriamente chiamata "Les Galeries Royales
SAINT-HUBERT", un posto unico dove decine di cioccolaterie risplendono con quelle loro vetrine che le fanno sembrare delle vere e proprie gioiellerie, piuttosto che negozi dove si compra del cioccolato. Al centro della galleria vi ritrovete ad ammirare un'opera d'arte unica nel suo genere: una struttura che rappresenta una scritta con doppio significato, a seconda del punto di vista che si acquisisce. Infatti se da un lato leggere la parola "hate", andando dalla parte opposta leggerete la parola "love", come a voler significare che amore e odio sono i due lati di una stessa medaglia. Veramente geniale.
Come potevano mancare i puffi? Forse i belgi vanno fieri dei loro puffi quanto della loro birra e cioccolata! Ma voi lo sapevate che in realt脿 i Puffi sono solo un sogno di Gargamella??
Il mio racconto si conclude qui. E' stato bello tornare a prendere un aereo per andare all'estero e visitare nuovi posti, fare una nuova avventura turistica, dopo cos矛 tanto tempo! E' stato ancor pi霉 bello condividere quest'esperienza con le persone giuste. Viaggiare con chi non si va d'accordo, con chi non si ha nulla o troppo poco in comune, fidatevi, 猫 decisamente molto faticoso e per nulla piacevole. Invece il viaggio perfetto 猫 quello fatto con le giuste amicizie, tanto da rendere irrilevante la destinazione, la durata o il tragitto.
