Photo of a bay tree in our garden (with cobweb 🕸)🍃

We love Indian cooking and always have a bag of dried bay leaves in our herb and spices drawer. The dried version has a stronger flavour than freshly picked bay leaves.

Bay leaves are also used in roasts, soups and stews as well as in tea, cosmetics, soup and medicine.

The leaves contain vitamins A and C, iron, potassium, magnesium and calcium. The reputed benefits are the treatment of respiratory and digestive conditions, aiding in the management of diabetes and having anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.

The tree is beautiful in our garden, particularly when it has berries growing at this time of year, fleur@fleur 🌿
