Where I found the tools it likely fell off a farm truck/trailer which most farmers around here have quite large tool chests. Hopefully it wasn't the only 10mm socket they had...

Being in France I presume those cobble roads are all centuries old so a part of history, but they look like pure garbage to ride on. I'll take my gravel roads over those any day.
