So it's Monday, a new week and new opportunities.

As I have continued to make posts and comments here on Steemit, I have come to notice that not all of them get payed out, despite having some upvotes.

So I started to search for why that was and happened upon this post, "Got upvotes but no payout? An overview of the situation around the minimum payout threshold", from @crokkon (thank you), and it all became much clearer.

There is a threshold for how small a payout can be in order to actually qualify for a payout, and it's about $0.02 and anything under that at the time for the payout will be zeroed out and put into the payout pool.

And the value of those are about 0.18% of the payout pool, so not very much money, but and here is the kicker, they represent 30% of all voted posts and 10% of all voted comments, and that's a lot.

Of course there will be quite a bit of low quality stuff in that number, but a not so small part of that is also new Steemians that have not yet got a big enough audience to get the nessecary votes to qualify for a payout.

And here is where it gets a bit ugly, because if you are a new Steemian and you see that a payout is coming, and by the way it's not made obvious that any amount below $0.02 will not be payed out, then that will be a bit discouraging to say the least.

So in my personal opinion I believe that should be made much more clear.

But there is also a solution to this, and that is where @dustsweeper comes in, this is a service that votes for any voted posts and comments to make it go above the minimum threshold.

So what I did was to just send 1 Steem to @dustsweeper and got my posts and comments above that value.

This means I can get a payout even on posts with just a few votes, and that is great.

I know, my reason for starting my Daily Blogpost was not really for the money making opportunity of Steemit, but at the same time, a monetary incentive is always nice, and it boosts the motivation to continue.

So as I continue to build my Steemit blog and continue posting on a daily basis, that money will make a difference, I am sure.
