All along the ground in this church based in Franeker, Friesland are slabs of historic writings from old, as far back as hundreds of years. I almost feel guilty walking over them, but kudos to the caretakers, as they must have to work tirelessly to maintain their good look with so many people walking around the church.
As this is such a grand church with so many older slabs on display for visitors to view, I will just run down the pictures of the floors and church outlay, then follow later to cover the standing slabs, which are fascinating to see, almost like ancient notepads for giants!
One has to be in awe of the size of this window and just as I was passing the light shines through. Right place, right time.
