What is Salvation?
Salvation from the Greek word NT - Sozo.
Sozo is divided into two parts
access to & Freedom from
- Freedom from poverty and access to his riches.
Freedom from curses and access to his blessings.
Freedom from sickness and access to his wholeness.
Freedom from death and access to eternal life
Etc.Freedom from this world and access to heaven.
NB: it's not limited to the last description.
Because salvation is beyond going to heaven
Infact, the summary of salvation is the finished works of Christ, the divine exchange!
ETYMOLOGY and SCRIPTURAL REFERENCE
Salvation is also from the Greek word, "soteria" which means "to rescue".
The word "rescue" implies that man needs to be delivered from something. TO BE SAVED.
The question is: "what did man needed to be saved from" ?
>>>Ephesians 2:5 "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Yes, we were dead in sin. To be dead in sin is to be dominated by sin. Such person is under the control of the devil because he that commits sin is of the devil.
He paid the price on the cross by taking away the curses we deserve and giving us His wholeness as He ushers us into the Kingdom of light. He freed us from the curse of the Law (Galatians 3:13).
Therefore, it means that a man without Christ is lost deeply in the world.
GRACE vs WORK
That's why we get salvation through Grace. Grace is the wifi, faith is the password.
Not by works;
Then the fruits are righteousness, peace etc. We begin to think like Him, talk like Him, act like Him, and produce His kind of results.
SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT BY GRACE ACCESS THROUGH FAITH
As it is written: Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
When we believe that we are saved by His graces based on our Redemption through His blood, we can then manifest as the sons and daughters of God.
Faith is that substance that helps us to take possession of those stuffs which grace has made available through His finished works.
THE PLACE OF CONFESSION
Romans 10:10; For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing of the Word of God. And confession is like the grease that helps accelerate the movement of faith. Little wonder they say: "there's power in the tongue".
Let us continue to ask God to reveal Himself to us each day, just as He has promised that "He will show us His SALVATION." - Psa 91:16b
